A recent update to Call of Duty: Mobile's battle royale classes introduced professions, changing how the mechanic works. We explain how, and reveal the best classes in a tier list.
While we didn't get any new Classes in COD Mobile Season 4: Fool's Gold, the previous update,Season 2: Lunar Dragon, introduced a new class to Call of Duty: Mobile's named Jet Boost that expands the roster of playable classes in the game.
This change has fundamentally changed the dynamic in the battle royale mode, and it has become more important to pick the best class and its associated profession if you want to come out on top in the BR. Especially with the introduction of the new class, Jet Boost, with Season 2: Vintage Vigilance.
To help you understand these changes, we have put together this class and profession guide, with an accompanying tier list to help track the power of the various options.
How Do You Unlock Classes In COD: Mobile?
Before we get into the classes and professions, it's worth knowing how you can unlock COD: Mobile's various classes.
There is one main way, and that is by purchasing them using credits (not COD Points). Classes cost 2000 credits, which can be earned by leveling up the battle pass, daily login rewards, opening crates, etc.
Some classes, like the soon-to-be-released, Igniter class, are unlocked via the battle pass that coincides with their release. Once that battle pass is over, they become purchasable using credits.
Take note: Only one player in each squad can choose a particular class.
Professions And Their Passives
Starting with Season 3, COD: Mobile's class system changed. Classes were categorized into class professions, of which there are five.
These professions offer up passive bonuses.
The seven professions, their passives, and associated classes are:
Jet Boost
This new class comes equipped with a jetpack, allowing for higher jumps and enhanced sliding.
Misdirection
Disorient your enemies with the new Misdirection Battle Royale class. This class comes equipped with a sonic generator that confuses enemies by emitting special sound waves that impair auditory functions, completely hiding the user’s sounds and causing enemies in range to hear fake noise sources. The Misdirection Battle Royale class also benefits from a passive increase to movement speed.
Kinetic Station
The Kinetic Station class was added to COD: Mobile with Season 6 'Templar's Oath' update. For more details, check out this guide.
Disrupt (Disruptor)
- Passive: After activating class skill, movement speed is increased
- Classes: Trap Master, Rewind, Trickster, Smoke Bomber, Hacker
Stealth (Assassin)
- Passive: Reduces movement noises
- Classes: Ninja, Poltergeist, Pumped (unavailable)
Support (Rebound)
- Passive: Reduces recovery and revive time
- Classes: Medic, Refitter
Defense (Fortress)
- Passive: Reduces explosive damage and the impact of negative statuses (storm damage, etc.)
- Classes: Spotter, Defender, Desperado, Igniter
Tracker (Observer)
- Passive: Enemy footsteps can be heard from a distance
- Classes: Scout, Clown, Mechanic, Airborne
Now, to make things slightly more confusing, some classes have always had passive, and some of these passives have become the profession's passive.
That means with the Season 7 update, many of the classes were buffed or nerfed, depending on whether they gained a passive or found it more commonplace.
How To Upgrade Battle Royale Classes In COD: Mobile
Before we get into the class tier list, you may wonder how to upgrade classes. In COD: Mobile, every class has a standard and upgraded state.
The standard state will become available to you when your class skill meter is full (it's a circle on the top right of your screen); once upgraded, it turns purple.
To upgrade your class, you will need to find a Class Driver. These can be found at Upgrade Terminals, marked with a purple icon on your map.
Once you pick up a Class Driver, your character will automatically use it, upgrading the skill.
Again, you will know when it's done because the circle which displays your class skill turns purple.
