It has been a long time coming, but the Call of Duty: Mobile World Championship will finally be held as a LAN event with a live audience in attendance.

After the previous two years were disrupted by COVID, the showpiece event of the 2022 competitive calendar will take place at the Raleigh Convention Center in North Carolina.

The four-day event will be held alongside the Call of Duty League Major I tournament and C.O.D.E. Bowl III, set to take place between December 15-18.

Sixteen teams from across the world will be heading to the US to compete for the title of World Champion and USD 1.7 million in prize money on offer.

Those teams, which include GODLike (India), NYSL Mayhem (North America), and Wolves (China), earned their place after a five-stage regional qualifier that started back in March of this year.

Those not able to attend the event in person will be able to watch it on the Call of Duty: Mobile Esports YouTube channel or in-game, where players will be given rewards for following the action.

COD: Mobile World Championship Finally Gets A LAN Event

This will be the first time in COD: Mobile's history that the World Championship will go ahead as planned.

In 2020, the event was scrapped entirely owing to COVID, with the prize pool redistributed amongst previous regional winners.

A year later, the Omicron variant again scuppered plans, with the decision taken to split the World Championship into an East and West division, with Tribe Gaming emerging victorious in the West and Blacklist Ultimate in the East.

Now in 2022, confidence in planning and staging live events has returned, and players and fans can look forward to a COD: Mobile World Championship that will put the best teams in the world up against one another, and on a LAN - we can't wait.
