As per the FTC's guidelines, the refund encompasses three distinct groups of individuals who have experienced unintentional charges or unauthorized payments. Here is a breakdown of people eligible for the refund:
- Fortnite users who were billed in in-game currency for items they did not intentionally purchase during the period spanning January 2017 to September 2022.
- Parents whose children made charges to their credit cards without their knowledge during the period from January 2017 to November 2018.
- Users whose Epic Games account was locked after they complained to their credit card company about wrongful charges.
Individuals who believe they qualify under one of the aforementioned categories must submit a refund request before January 17, 2024.
