Leaks have shown that Fortnite will be introducing a competitive racing mode to the game in Chapter 5. Here's what you need to know about it.
Who's ready to go racing? Recent leaks by several reputable sources have revealed that a racing mode, known under the codename 'Delmar', will be added to Fortnite in an upcoming update.
It's fair to note that racing has already existed in the game due to many players creating unique maps using Fortnite Creative 2.0, but this new game mode is set to take it to the next level with a variety of never-before-seen features, gameplay, and mechanics.
This new racing mode has been on the receiving end of many leaks and rumors, so we've put compiled everything we know so far about it below.
When Will The Racing Mode Be Released In Fortnite?
The racing mode will be released to Fortnite in Chapter 5 Season 1. This new update is expected to launch in late November or early December 2023.
More information will be revealed the closer we approach the mode's release. Until then, we have to rely on leaks.

Rumors suggest that there will be a casual and competitive game mode.
On top of this, additional modes such as Tutorial, Time Trials, Death Race, and Easy Rider will also be available.

According to HYPEX, You can race in a variety of maps. They're a mix of casual and competitive maps.
The casual maps include:

- Facade
- Infinity
- JackRabbit
- Olympus
- Rally
- Sidewinder
- Snap

The competitive maps include:
- Asan Circuit

Leaked Mechanics Coming To Fortnite Racing Mode
A "Garage" tab will be available in the lobby. It allows you to choose between unlockable/upgradable cars and customize your vehicle with various cosmetics.
As revealed by NotJulesDev, holding the accelerate button during the countdown before the race start will give players a temporary boost. Some might recall that a similar mechanic exists in Mario Kart.

There will be a "demolition" when cars collide which seems to indicate that you could eliminate opponents in this game mode.
Other features rumored to be included are a drifting (with a drifting boost) and an oversteer mechanic. Cars can allegedly be affected by environmental obstacles such as mud and ice. You can control the car mid-air and do tricks to activate what is reportedly known as "Supersonic Speed".
