Leaked source code points to the possibility that Counter-Strike 2 may be coming to mobile platforms.
Valve made waves over the past week after they dropped a monumental piece of news seemingly out of nowhere. They announced that Counter-Strike 2, a free upgrade to CS:GO, will be launched in the Summer of 2023.
It's described as the "largest technical leap forward in Counter-Strike's history" and promises a variety of new features and updates in the coming years. This includes revamped maps, responsive smokes, and improved gunplay.
Counter-Strike 2 is set to be playable only on PC through Steam. However, recent leaks from the engine used for the game, Source 2, suggest that a mobile port of the popular tactical FPS is on its way.

If you recall, it was rumored a year ago that Valve was considering making versions of Counter-Strike available on other platforms. In the past, CS:GO was offered on both PS3 and Xbox 360. Mobile seems to be an extension of Valve's plan to increase accessibility to this popular title.
This leak was corroborated by another trusted source that showed rendering codes and gameplay commands tailored for Android and iOS in Source 2.
Now, to temper any hopeful expectations, if Counter-Strike 2 were ever to come to mobile, you can expect it to look completely different from the PC port. As you might have guessed, mobile runs a vastly incomparable set of hardware and software than PC. Regardless, we can expect to still have the same incredible FPS action that we know and love from Counter-Strike.
At the time of writing, Valve has not officially confirmed that Counter-Strike 2 will be coming to mobile.
