The Lone Wolf Challenge is a new solo game mode never before seen in The Division franchise that allows you to test your abilities in a series of levels of increasing difficulty, with each having a fixed skill cap. At the start of each level, you can choose one of three temporary skills that provide perks during the round. The more levels you complete, the better the rewards. On top of this, the faster you finish the levels, the better your Final rating and rewards.

In addition to this, Solo Dark Zone Queue is a new game mode that will match you against other solo players.

Legendary Instance Challenges are a novel set of missions that get refreshed every week and offer players a more intense gameplay experience.

A "Recommended Power Score" has been added for activities, modes, and missions. This would give players an idea of how prepared they should be before taking it on. Besides this, a "Recommended Builds" feature has been introduced to aid players in improving their character level, equipment, and power score.

On the customization side of things, OS Protocols are a new type of gear that can be equipped. Through an upgrade to your SHD watch's operating system, you can now improve your stats and tailor your builds to meet your playstyle.

Finally, one of the more requested items from the community has been the allowance of a 60 FPS framerate. This graphics setting has now been activated on higher-end devices

Changes To Existing Gameplay

The balance of the game has been improved. This includes the overall progression and economy, weekly bounties, weapon and gear progression, and player power score. The aim is to make the game "less grindy" and more enjoyable and rewarding for players.

That said, one of the key changes players can expect to find is an overhaul of the Battlepass system. In short, it has been redesigned to have easier tasks and more rewarding items such as an Exotic weapon that comes with each refreshed Battlepass.

Several improvements have been made to the open-world system. Fast travel has been implemented so players can now travel instantly between any unlocked activity. Exploring will be more rewarding as little puzzles and side activities have been added.

The Tutorial mode has been revamped. This has resulted in the first few missions being redesigned and the mode having the option to test out each of the specializations available in the game.

The Armory has been reworked to make crafting easier and more intuitive. A novel proficiency and tier system has also been added. That means three new equipment tiers have been introduced, namely Tier 0, Tier 1, and Tier 2.

Tier 0 and Tier 1 equipment can be obtained through Instances, Dark Zone activities, daily game modes, and equipment crafting. Meanwhile, Tier 2 equipment can only be obtained from the Legendary Challenge game mode.

The Vanguard's ability has been reworked. Now, when activated, it will enhance any cover used by yourself or your allies, thus offering more utility, especially in a team.

Ubisoft revealed that with the launch of this second regional beta test, The Division Resurgence's release date has been delayed to early 2024. This test would give players an insight into what they can expect in the game's full release.
