Hyper Front, aka the "Valorant clone," has 12 characters, each with three game-changing abilities. This guide details all the characters, their Valorant counterparts, and their abilities.
Hyper Front has got its global launch coinciding with the release of Season 2: Outbreak. The game also added a new map and three new characters, the latter bringing the roster up to 12.
Now, if you have an interest in the game, then you are probably aware that these heroes have more than a passing resemblance to those seen in Riot Games' Valorant, with many of the same abilities appearing in both games.
But the heroes aren't exact copies but actually more like mash-ups. There is Coldcast, the Sage-like character who has the latter's wall and slow orbs but not her healing or ultimate.
In fact, heroes in Hyper Front only have three abilities, and while one is charged up like Valorant's ultimate, it isn't given the weight seen in Riot Games' title.
So, if you are coming from Valorant, there is a bit to learn here, and that's why we have put together this guide to Hyper Front's characters.
We will detail all the heroes, their abilities, and other key stats to help you decide who to pick.
Hyper Front - Character Types
There are five character types in Hyper Front; Brawler, Guardian, Scout, Supporter, and Tactician.
These largely fall into the classes seen in Valorant though it deviates slightly with the creation of Supporter, which, so far, has one hero and is a Sage-like healer.
In the main game mode, which is 5v5, teams aren't restricted on how many of a particular class can be chosen. However, players can't pick a character that has already been chosen by a teammate.
As mentioned before, there are currently 12 characters, with the three most recent additions being Cure Light, Veil, and Nemesis, who were introduced with the global launch on July 20.
We will continue to update this page with more heroes as and when they are added.
Hyper Front - All Characters And Abilities
With 12 characters and five classes, we are breaking down Hyper Front's heroes into the latter.
Heroes each have three abilities; two basics and an ultimate ability which charges up with kills and round wins.
Most heroes have one free basic and one that is purchasable, but this isn't always the case, with some heroes' basics both requiring to be purchased at the start of the round.
To 20,000 Star Coins or 500 Star Quartz to unlock, and knowing all of the heroes' abilities can help you decide which ones to unlock.
It is also worth noting that, even before you unlock the heroes, you can use ALL of them in the game's training mode.
Brawler
There are currently four Brawlers in the game, the most of any class. Brawlers are the game's damage dealers with abilities that allow them to open up new angles and take fights.
Blood Raider (Krove)
A mix between Pheonix, KAY-O, and Reyna, Blood Raider has a flash, a healing ability, and an ultimate that can self-revive you when downed.
Blindness
- Charges: 2 (one free at the start of each round)
- Cost: 200 each
A flash grenade that bounces off walls and blinds anyone looking at it.
Bloodthirst
- Charges: 2
- Cost: 100 each
Requires kill/assist to activate. Allows Blood Raider to heal.
Enhance (Ultimate)
Puts Blood Raider into Berserk mode; if heal/armor is less than half, it will replenish it to half.
When killed with Berserk in effect, Blood Raider enters a downed state and revives with full health if they aren't finished off by the opposing team.
Blast (Blaz)
Blast is very similar to Valorant's Raze, with plenty of explosive power and the ability to jump high into the air with his Jetpack.
Triple Shot
- Charges: 1
- Cost: Free
A grenade launcher that fires three grenades simultaneously.
Jetpack
- Charges: 2
- Cost: 200 each
Propels Blast high into the air granting him access to parts of the map other heroes can't reach. Do a normal jump and then use Jetpack while in the air for an even higher jump.
Mega Shark Rocket (Ultimate)
Essentially an RPG, the Mega Shark Rocket is devastating for those on the end of it. Also, it increases run speed when activated, making it perfect for surprising enemies.
Nemesis (Necrys)
Nemesis is very much like Yoru and is a master of deception.
Void Illusion
- Charges: 1 (replenishes automatically)
- Cost: Free
Nemesis creates a clone that begins walking in the direction he is facing, player can choose to teleport to the clone's location or stay put.
Dark Oblivion
- Charges: 2
- Cost: 200
Creates an instant smoke on your location, allowing Nemesis to slip away from an ambush.
Clone (Ultimate)
Similar to Pheonix's ultimate, Nemesis's Clone creates a second version of them which the player controls. If killed, they return to their original body.
Thunder
Jett meets Reyna - a very powerful hero.
Lightning Dash
- Charges: 2 (one free at the start of each round)
- Cost: 200
A Jett-like dash that can be used in all directions. Great for getting out of a tight spot.
Plasma State
- Charges: 200

After Thunder gets a kill or assist, the player can use Plasma State giving them a period of invulnerability.
Ion Shock (Ultimate)
Essentially a limited-time gun similar to Neon's ultimate.
Guardian
There are currently two Guardians in Hyper Front.
Coldcast (Frost)
Sage but no heal. Yes, I just said that.
Icecore Trap
- Charges: 2 (one free at the start of each round)
- Cost: 100
A Slow orb with some tweaks. The freeze "explodes," and if a player gets caught in it, they will slow down to a snail's pace.
Ice Barrier
- Charges: 1
- Cost: 300
A large ice wall that obstructs your view, blocks your path, and can't be shot through; sounds pretty familiar.
Freezing Storm (Ultimate)
A few points to the developers for creativity here; this ability is pretty cool though we're not sure how effective.
This gives Brimstone, coupled with Viper, ultimate vibes and essentially sees a huge area become temporarily uninhabitable because, when this ult finally detonates, it turns to ice anyone standing inside it, making them easy pickings.
Valkyrie (Targh)
Killjoy meets Apex Legends' Gibraltar.
Auto Turret
- Charges: 1
- Cooldown: when recycled 6 seconds, when destroyed 25s.
Places an auto turret with a 360-degree field of view.
Shield of Perseverance
- Charges: 2
- Cost: 200 each
Place down one or two large shields a la Gibraltar. Disappear after a certain time or when destroyed.
Area Explosion (Ultimate)
A targeted missile attack. Think very similar to Brimstone's ult, but it can't be placed somewhere; rather, the device is automatically targeted to where you are standing. Don't worry, though; unlike Brimstone's wipe-it-off-the-face-of-the-earth armament, Area Explosion drops down precision munitions on any enemies standing in the area.
Scout
There are currently two Scouts in the game. These are recon heroes that help you attain map information.
Faith Arrow (Sumine)
Sova with a molly and no drone.
Scouting Arrow
- Charges: 1
- Cooldown: 25 seconds
- Cost: Free
Shoots a reconnaissance arrow, which will reveal the location of the enemy with the detection range.
Burning Arrow
- Charges: 2
- Cost: 200 each
A molly-like arrow.
Flaming Arrow
Sova's ultimate but not as deadly or useful.
Sentinel
A little bit of Sova, a little bit of Skye.
Drone
- Cooldown: 7 seconds when recycled, 30 seconds when destroyed.
- Cost: Free
Stun Grenade
- Charges: 2
- Cost: 100 each
A grenade that slows enemies and causes the camera to shake upon explosion.
Homing Grenade (Ultimate)
Two grenades that when launched track down opponents. Exploding when they meet, it will stun them.
Supporter
The game's healers; there is only one.
Cure Light (Mia)
The other (healing) half of Sage.
Nano Treatment
- Charges: 1
- Cooldown: 30 seconds
Heals a teammate or yourself.
Area Blockade
- Charges: 2
- Cost: 200 each
Slow grenades that also act as smokes.

Revive a teammate with full health.
Tactician
The controllers of Hyper Front. their abilities are about changing realities to give a tactical advantage on the battlefield.
Storm
Tornado Burst
- Charges: 3 (first is free every round)

Three huge walls of smoke.
Cyclone Burst

- Cost: 300
A grenade version of Killjoy's nano swarm; anyone trapped inside when it detonates will be given Vulnerability.
Tornado (Ultimate)
Truly the closest to Brimstone's ultimate (we know there's been a few), this EMP shocks anyone who finds themselves in its range. It's launched from a handheld device.
Veil
Shrouding Sandstorm
- Charges: 1
- Cost: get one free at the start of each round.
A Viper-esque wall that casts Vulnerability on opponents who cross it.
Quicksand Desert
- Charges: 2
- Cost: 200
A molly that also slows opponents.
Scorching Sand (Ultimate)
Casts a large sandstorm that moves. Enemies inside the storm are hit with Vulnerability. Veil can stop the sandstorm by pressing the ability button again.
Blink
Reyna mixed with Yoru.
Horizon Blocked
- Charges: 2
- Cost: both are free at the start of the round.
A Reyna-like flash.
