A Left 4 Dead 2 mobile game has magically appeared in app stores worldwide and it's left many people excited. We hate to break it to you, but it has nothing to do with the original game and is a scam.
Left 4 Dead 2 is the iconic multiplayer survival horror game from Valve. Since it was released back in 2009, we haven't seen or heard of another addition to the successful franchise in a very long time. All was quiet on that front until a mobile version of the game was recently launched globally.
Titled "Left 4 Dead II", you can currently download it from the Google Play Store. It describes itself as:
The highly anticipated sequel to the award-winning Left 4 Dead, welcomes you into a zombie-infested world. Blast cities, swamps, and cemeteries to zombies with your friends in L4D2's five new scenarios, from Savannah to New Orleans!
Unfortunately, Valve has not confirmed this game to be their creation nor released any prior information about this game. In fact, the developer, CB&AKG Games, has no ties to Valve in any way. This has caused many to be suspicious of its legitimacy. Deep down, we all want this to be true. But after some deep dives into this game, we have to say that it is an unofficial Left 4 Dead 2 game. Quite frankly, it's also a scam too.
Fake versions of popular games are nothing new. At the height of Flappy Bird's popularity (and its eventual decline), there were hundreds of unofficial variations of the game. This trend has continued today, with multiple popular console and PC games being converted into awful mobile renditions of titles like Fall Guys and GTA.
However, this Left 4 Dead 2 mobile game is different from the rest because it was officially certified for mobile release by the Australian Government on September 2. Other unofficial games won't normally pass this test, so many were led to believe that this game was the real deal.
That being said, this certification calls into question the process any mobile game in Australia must undergo to be certified. If you had the fantastic opportunity to play "Left 4 Dead II", you might have noticed the game was a scam from the very beginning.
The moment you launch the app, you are greeted with graphics that might have been pieced together in Microsoft Paint.
After choosing your starting character, you are notified, with terrible spelling, that you can only play the full game if you purchase either the monthly or yearly Premium pass.
But don't worry, though; you can still play the sixty-second demo of the game for free. It's laughably bad. From the oddly-scaled structures to having the ability to walk through walls and the lines upon lines of T-posing "zombies." The controls barely work, and there are no actions you can do besides walking. You can even fall off the edge of the untextured map. Simply put, this game is a mere skeleton compared to the Left 4 Dead 2 game we know and love.
Devout Valve follower, Gabe, has called the developers"scammers" and said that people should report this app and other fakes games they've created. This includes games like House Party, Monster Hunter, and Patrol Officers.
these guys are just scammers, report the app, let's get it out of play market pic.twitter.com/0iYh63viSp

Like "Left 4 Dead II", these are all unofficial versions of popular Steam titles. From the looks of things, it seems like the developers have no intention of stopping.
