Fortnite's latest update, versioned 24.40, was going to introduce the highly sought-after ranked mode and a plethora of other new content additions, scheduled for release on May 16, 2023.
However, the update never came out, and instead, players started facing issues that stopped them from downloading or updating Fortnite via Epic Games Launcher. In the wake of that, we have many players who were wondering what time is the Fortnite update coming out.
What Time Is The Fortnite Update?
Fortnite's latest update, version 24.40, was going to release on May 16, 2023, but because of some issues, Epic Games delayed the update to May 17, 2023. Epic Games took it to Twitter to share the following message:
We will now be targeting May 17th for the release of v24.40 alongside the newly announced Ranked.
We'll provide another update with details about v24.40's expected downtime as we have it.

While the exact time at which the Fortnite 24.40 update will roll out is not yet revealed, based on the past update releases, it is expected the Fortnite update will roll out at:
- 1 AM PT
- 4 AM ET
- 9 AM BST
