Since early February, the English voice actor for Tighnari in Genshin Impact, Elliot Gindi, has been embroiled in a scandal of his own making after reports surfaced accusing him of improper conduct with fans and other harrowing acts.

Allegations first appeared when Fretcore, a former moderator on his Discord server, shared a Google Document which presented an exhaustive list of the actor's unsettling actions.

Following this, many came out with screenshots of private messages between them and the disgraced voice actor that appear to confirm the accusations in the document.

Since all of this evidence was brought to light, Gindi came out on Twitter to confirm these allegations as accurate and apologize for his actions.

Needless to say, his actions are deeply inexcusable. This sentiment was shared by many across the Genshin Impact community and HoYoverse themselves.

As such, the developers have wholly removed Elliot Gindi's voice lines from Tighnari in the game.

HoYoverse went on to add that they are currently in the process of casting a new voice actor for the character. Once that is settled, they will record new lines which will be added to the game in a future update.

But his removal from the game itself isn't enough for many in the Genshin Impact community. Players and fellow Genshin voice actors have expressed their anger online and called for Elliot to face harsh repercussions.

Hu Tao voice actress, Brianna Knickerbocker, echoed this sentiment stating, "Truly sick in the head. Everything Elliot has done has left me so angry and triggered. There needs to be consequences for his actions. There needs to be support for the victims."

In an interview with GamesRadar+, HoYoverse apologized for the hurtful situation:

We deeply regret the harm and damage that happened to our fans, gamers, community, and anyone affected. Both our internal teams and external partners including our voice acting studio have been working together on an urgent solution. And we will keep you posted on the progress.
