In this guide, we will explain how the new Ranked Mode works in Brawl Stars as well as the Ranks available and the rewards you can earn.
Ranked is a new mode that has replaced the Power League starting from the March 2024 Season.
Once you reach 1,000 Trophies on the Trophy Road in Brawl Stars, you will unlock this new competitive game mode. In Ranked, you can climb through various Ranks and tiers to become recognized as one of the best players in the game.
In many ways, Ranked is a test of skill and will feel like so as you make your way through the mode each Season. It requires you to sharpen your tactics and improve your strategies. Choosing the right brawler to meet the circumstances is key.
That said, here is a complete explainer about how the Ranked Mode works in Brawl Stars.
How Ranked Mode Works In Brawl Stars
In Ranked, you will play matches with a pre-selected game mode. Each match will have random Battle Modifiers and random maps chosen for you to play with, each of which will subsequently affect the gameplay you experience. The maps and modifiers present are rotated each Season.
You must select a brawler who is Power Level 9 and above to take part in any Ranked match.
Ensure that you choose the right brawler to meet the various modifiers, game modes, and maps chosen for your Ranked match. Choosing the right brawler can mean the difference between winning or losing!
You can play Ranked either a Solo, Duo, or Trio. It is important to note that players with large gaps in their Ranks will not be able to play together. You can only team up in Duos or Trios with other players that have a Rank difference of three minor Ranks or less.
Each Ranked Season only lasts one month and will follow the same schedule as each Brawl Pass Season. This means that when a new Brawl Pass Season begins, so will a new Ranked Season.
At the start of every Ranked Season, all players' Ranks will be reset to the lowest Rank possible – Bronze I.
To help you climb through the Ranks faster, a Rank Boost will be given to you at the start of the Season to help you increase your Rank Score after each match victory. This boost will only last until you reach the Rank you achieved in the previous Season.
All Ranks In Brawl Stars
There are seven Ranks in total. Each of these Ranks has tiers that you can progress through. In ascending order, the Ranks are:
- Bronze I, II & II
- Silver I, II & III
- Gold I, II & III
- Diamond I, II & III
- Mythic I, II & III
- Legendary I, II & III
- Masters
After you reach the Masters Rank, you can compete in an elite leaderboard known as 'Global Rankings'. In it, you will go against Ranked Masters and fight for your place on the Ranked Leaderboard.
There are certain brawler requirements that you must meet if you want to play a game in any of these Ranks. The higher the Rank, the more demanding the requirements.
To begin with, you will need three brawlers who are Power Level 9 and above to play a best-of-one round in Ranks Bronze I until Gold III. You will need 12 brawlers who are Power Level 9 and above to play a best-of-three round in Diamond I and above.
All Ranked Rewards
In Ranked, you can earn rewards such as Ranked Starr Drops, Epic Starr Drops, Mythic Starr Drops, Legendary Starr Drops, and Battle Card Ranked Backgrounds. These rewards can be unlocked as you progress through each Rank tier.
Here is a breakdown of the frequency at which you can unlock these rewards.
Reward | Frequency |
Ranked Starr Drops | Twice per Rank |
Epic, Mythic, and Legendary Starr Drops | Once per Rank reached |
Battle Card Ranked Background | Once per Rank reached |
A Ranked Background is a cosmetic that will decorate your Battle Card. This card will be shown at the beginning of each match.
Ranked Backgrounds can be carried over once between Seasons. You can upgrade a Ranked Background each time you reach a new Rank. This can be done for a total of seven times.
