Football mania has gripped PUBG Mobile with the 2.3 update introducing a raft of football events and mini-games, as well as the GOAT himself, Lionel Messi.
Fans of PUBG Mobile are washing their kits and pulling on their boots, warming up for the arrival of the 2.3 update which is bringing football mania to the game - and just in time for the World Cup too.
This update introduces Lionel Messi to the game, with the Paris Saint-Germain attacker adding an appearance in Krafton's battle royale to a similar collaboration in Call of Duty: Mobile. But it's not just a Messi skin on offer here as a new tactical item, called Messi's Golden Shoes, gifts you with movement abilities inspired by the world's great dribbler.
There is also a raft of football-inspired mini-games and events to take part in, a football-themed vehicle, and a football throwable that sucks opponents into dangerous areas, setting them up for the kill.
In matters unrelated to football, there are also a series of map updates and weapon balance changes, as well as the introduction of Recall Towers.

PUBG Mobile 2.3 Update - Release Date / Time
The PUBG Mobile 2.3 update is available from 11 am UTC on November 15 at 11 am, with the new Cycle 3 Season 9 (C3S9) starting a couple of days later on November 17.
If you update your PUBG Mobile client before Nov 17, you will be rewarded with 3,000 battle pass XP, 100 Ace Gold (AG), and a Magical Night helmet.
To get these rewards, you will have to update from the Google Play or Apple App stores, as the manual installation method won't go live until 1:45 am UTC on November 17.

The headline changes are as follows:
- Football Mania: New themed mode in collaboration with Lionel Messi.
- Unite for One Goal series of events: Rank up with friends and participate in all kinds of football-themed events.
- Football-themed items: Football vehicle, Football Air Drop, Messi's Golden Shoes, Wonder Football, Giga Football
- Aftermath 2.0: Upgrades to armor and firearms, new energy and gameplay mechanics, new bunkers, Recall Towers, and more
- Creation System debut: Use different camera styles to take creative pictures or clips, and share them.

Weapon And Vehicle Balance Changes
- Improved the firing performance while aiming down sights and the reloading action of the NS2000.
- Mountain Bike improvements: The Mountain Bike now balances better than before.

- Limb shot damage multiplier increased from 0.475 to 0.55.

- Cheek Pad:
- Adjustment: Bullet spread reduced by 10%.
- Adjustment: Bullet spread when scoped reduced by 10%.
