Let's take a closer look at the new game, Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis. In this guide we will specifically touch on gameplay, ui, and much more!
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is starting off its life with a bang. The game not only is a retelling of everyone's favorite game in the series but it's also a very solid RPG game.
The Final Fantasy series is no stranger to mobile devices but Ever Crisis is a first for the series, essentially acting as the new way to experience everything the Final Fantasy VII world and story has to offer, across all of the games within the canon.
Also, in more typical Square Enix RPG fashion, this game can be a bit confusing at first, so we've decided to make a guide covering the basics of the game and digging a bit deeper into what some of the systems in the game are.

Final Fantasy VII Basics Of The Battle Screen: ATB, Limit Break, Weaknesses, Stance & More
During a battle segment in Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis, you will control one character. The other two characters that you will have on your team are going to do all of their magic and attacks on their own.
- If you're looking to upgrade your gaming experience in Final Fantasy VII: Ever Crisis and other games, we recommend using a Razer Kishi mobile game controller .
But it is up to you to activate their Limit Breaks, referred to as LB's. While fighting in battle your ATB gauge, which is located above your attacks on the bottom, fills up.
Using one of the special attacks or spells on the bottom will reduce the ATB gauge by however much is denoted on their icon.
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis Enemy Weaknesses
Every enemy in the game has a weakness that you must find. The Soldiers all are weak to Thunder or Fire, for example, and when they're hit by it, they are killed almost instantly.
In boss fights specifically, this will be important because enemies will put up large shields that you will need to hit with an attack they are weak to.
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis Stances: Attack & Defense Stance Explained
Usually after the enemy blocks, they will charge up an attack that you will be hit by. That is where the Stances on the right hand of the screen come in handy.
The red color stance is for attacking, and it increases your power but will decrease your defense.
When you tap the red button you will then flip over to defense mode which is used to take stronger hits from enemies at the cost of losing attack power for a little bit of time.
Final Fantasy VII Weapons Explained
Final Fantasy VII Ever Crisis is a gacha game at the end of the day but from what we've played, it seems to be a very generous one.
In the game, you are only randomly acquiring weapons from the gacha mechanic. Essentially, all of the characters you will need for the game are provided to you for free.
The way weapons work is simple: each weapon has its own stats and R. Abilities, which is what essentially makes them good or bad. Some abilities boost ATK, SPD, DEF, etc.
Every single weapon is unique to their respective owners. For example, Cloud has his own weapons, while Tifa has her own. This makes managing all of them very easy.
And finally, every weapon exists in each rarity tier. The sword Apocalypse for example is a 3 star, 4 star, and a 5 star.
Obviously, the 5-star is the best version but even the lower rarity ones can be considered the best for your character.
If you use the gacha and get a higher rarity version of a weapon you already own, the game will automatically replace the lower rarity with the higher rarity.
Final Fantasy VII Equipment Screen Explained
The equipment screen has a lot to take in, but it is very simple once you understand each part. The Main Equipment on the right are the weapons and Materia you have on hand, which will make up your character build.
Being able to use other weapons you have that have stats you may need for your build is ideal here. If you're lost, just tap the Best Equip button, and the game will help you.
Materia, the green orbs, are your spells. These are provided to you by the Materia and your weapons so mix and match them appropriately!
At the top, there is armor, which will give you a base increase in some stats and then your Limit Break.
Limit Breaks will be unlocked as you level up your party members. Some LBs are better than others for specific situations.
