Dendro is a new Element that flows through everything in the Sumeru region of Teyvat. Master this element with our guide!
The Morn A Thousand Roses Brings is the version 3.0 update that was recently unveiled by HoYoverse. It introduces one of the seven elements, Dendro, to Genshin Impact. The element is associated with the Dendro Archon, Lesser Lord Kusanali, who presides over the region of Sumeru. This region is known for its wisdom and pursuit of knowledge. However, it is also known to be a place that hides many mysteries and secrets.
One of these mysteries - to players, at least - is the new Dendro element. Prior to the version 3.0 update, there were no characters who possessed the ability to control it. So here's a handy guide to everything you need to know about the Dendro element!
Dendro Elemental Reactions
As we mentioned, The Morn A Thousand Roses Brings formally introduces the Dendro element. You will be able to make extensive use of it during your multiple adventures throughout Sumeru and beyond. But similar to the other six elements present in the game, certain elemental reactions will occur when the Dedro element comes in contact with other elements. Here are all three of them currently available in Genshin Impact.
Dendro And Electro - Quickened Reaction
Combine the Dendro and Electro elements to render creatures Quickened. When a creature under the Quickened state is attacked by a Dendro or an Electro attack, a bonus effect will be triggered.
The effects are as follows:
- Aggravate: A creature under the Quickened state will take additional damage from an Electro attack.
- Spread: A creature under the Quickened state will take additional damage from a Dendro attack.
Dendro And Pyro - Burning Reaction
Trigger the Burning reaction by combining the Dendro and Pyro elements. Once the Burning reaction has been activated, it will deal Pyro damage to the creature over time and applies Pyro to nearby enemies.
Dendro And Hydro - Bloom Reaction
Combining the Dendro and Hydro elements will trigger the Bloom reaction that will produce a green Dendro Core. This Dendro Core can deliver devastating effects when combined with the Pyro and Electro elements.
These effects are as follows:
- Burgeon: When the Dendro Core comes into contact with the Pyro element, the Burgeon effect will be created and results in an AoE Dendro damage
- Hyperbloom: When the Dendro Core comes into contact with the Electro element, the Hyperbloom effect will be created where the Dendro Core transformed into homing Sprawling Shots that will deal Dendro damage to enemies.
Keep in mind that there is a cap on the number of Dendro Cores that can be spawned on the field. This number hasn't been revealed as of writing. However, if the number is exceeded (or after a certain period of time), the Dendro Cores will explode - dealing AoE Dendro damage to all enemies.
Playable Dendro Element Characters
Only two playable characters in Genshin Impact currently possess the ability to use the Dendro element. They are Collei and Tighnari.
Collei
Collei is a four-star rarity Dendro archer who is currently a trainee ranger in the Avidya Forest of Sumeru.
Tighnari
Tighnari is a five-star rarity Dendro archer who doubles as both a young botany researcher and a Forest Watcher in the Avidya Forest of Sumeru.
You can read more about the Dendro element in the Sumeru Adventure Journal.
