This months new set of cards is here! Here's a look at one of the four new cards, Spider-Ham and some decks to play him in.
Marvel Snap does a phenomenal job of making sure that any card that comes out is able to fit into a niche. Rarely has there been a card so far that the community has deemed as not playable.
Spider-Ham is another amazing card that is already considered to be a staple by players who are fans of a Control playstyle. He currently stands at a 54% win rate on the ranked ladder and has seen a whopping 7,649 games since being released.
So, we decided to talk about some of the best Spider-Ham decks that you can use to increase your own win rate in Marvel Snap.
What Does Spider-Ham Do?
Spider-Ham is a 1/1 card with the description: "On Reveal: Transform the highest cost card in your opponent's hand into a Pig, keeping its Power and Cost."
What this means is your opponent's Galactus that they drew. It's now a Pig without the special Galactus powers.
This means Spider-Ham has the potential to single-handedly destroy your opponent's win condition from turn 1.
Below we have three decks where Spider-Ham can be used as a devastating tool.
Ham-Lock
This Ham-Lock deck is a very tightly designed deck centered around using all of your biggest cards with relative ease.
This is primarily done by using Lock Jaw and Jubilee, but we want to lean more on Lock Jaw to shuffle in our best friends.
Lock Jaw can swap in any card from your deck once a card is played where he is, once per turn.
So, ideally, if we want to utilize this mechanic as much as possible, we want to have our cheaper cards be played to get the ball rolling which is where Spider-Ham comes into play.
Playing Spider-Ham with Lock Jaw resets Spider-Ham's skill because Lock Jaw will reshuffle Spider-Ham into the deck, and that can result in you getting Spider-Ham again on a draw or from Lock Jaw's skill.
No matter what, though, it's important to remember that pretty much any card in this deck that gets drawn or revealed from the Lock Jaw combo will end up giving you a huge advantage against any opponent.
Ham-Bounce
The bounce archetype is one of the most played in the meta of the game currently. This deck, at a glance, doesn't seem to be anything to write home about, but once we reveal the engine here, we think you'll like what we have to say.
Keeping the cost of the cards low is ideal because we want to be able to play as many cards to overwhelm our opponent as possible, but we also want to create sick combos.
Our Spider-Ham-centric combo here will rely on our great friend Beast. What Beast does is return every card at the location he's played back to our hand, and it decreases the cost by 1.
So if we played Beast with Spider-Ham, our hammy boy would return as a 1/0. Effectively making him free but also making it so the next time we play him, he transforms another card into a pig in our opponent's hand.
Now to name one combo outside of this, we should talk about the importance of Bishop, who gets a +1 to his power when we play a card.
Thankfully most of our cards are cheap and can be played easily and recycled even more to buff Bishop into being a huge issue for our opponent.
Then on turn 6, we will always draw America Chavez so we can rely on her 9 power to fill out any gaps we may need to win the game.
Spider-Ham and Good Cards
This deck is the tried and true classic in Marvel Snap and has been a staple since Devil Dino ran the meta.
The idea here is just to put all of the best cards you have into the deck with Spider-Ham; that's it.
There may not be many intricate combos, but there are the tried and true bread-and-butter combos that every hardcore player is already aware of.
Zabu, Jeff, Wave, and DarkHawk are names that bring chills down most players' spines, but now we have our new friend Spider-Ham to hopefully cause chaos as well.
