This guide explains the general team placement and synergies while going over the best team compositions in Reverse: 1999.
Reverse: 1999 is a turn-based strategy roleplaying game that features team building where you can put together a team of four characters, three active and one extra, to tackle the different content and game modes.
Similar to the likes of Genshin Impact, Honkai Star Rail, and a few other gacha games, Reverse: 1999 categorizes the playable characters using Elements while further differentiating them based on damage type, Reality or Mental, overall kit, DPS, Support, Healer, Nasty Wound, Self Healing, and other such things.
All these aspects of the character kit in Reverse: 1999 make team building difficult for many players as they often get overwhelmed and fail to figure out the excellent team comps with great synergies, character placements, etc.
Seeing that, we here with a detailed guide talking about general team composition and character placements in Reverse: 1999 while sharing some of the best team comps in the game that you can use, granted you all obtained the respective characters.
Update: We have made minor updates to the build guide on January 15, 2024.
Reverse 1999 Ultimate Team Building Guide: General Team Comps & Character Placements
In Reverse: 1999, you can build a team of four characters where three act as the active ones used in battle, with the fourth being a substitute who mainly enters the battle when any of the three characters die, which is a rare case, until and unless you have randomly put together a team during mid or end game.
That being said, here is how you should be building your team in Reverse: 1999:
- Character Slot 1: DPS
- Character Slot 2: Support
- Character Slot 3: Healer / Survival (Shielder)
- Character Slot 4: DPS / Sub DPS
The first character in your team should be a DPS unit, whether a single target DPS or Burst DPS, followed by a Support unit to bolster the main DPS's damage output further.
Moreover, we recommend using a Healer or a Shielder in the third slot to ensure your DPS and Support units are alive throughout the battle.
Now, depending on the stage or boss, you will be changing your team very often, though if you go with the above team structure, the win rate and chances of getting three stars in all stages are much easier.
Remember that Reverse: 1999 features mono teams and some characters like Eternity, who can even get you through many stages alone. But, please do not cling towards "meta" and such stuff, and enjoy the team building in the game.
Also, the more characters you have on the field, the more Action Points you get for using the cards.
