Open-world survival game Undawn has announced its next closed beta test.
Undawn, the upcoming free-to-play open-world MMORPG from Lightspeed & Quantum, has just announced a closed beta test (CBT) to start on April 3.
The regions eligible for this CBT have not been divulged, though it should be available on both PC and mobile platforms.
Undawn is set in a post-apocalyptic world now infested with infected, resulting from a radiative explosion that destroyed humanity as we know it.
Players take on the role of members of one of the few remaining survivor groups, Ravens Shelter. Players must gather resources, build settlements, and arm themselves in a bid to survive against rival factions and the monsters that now roam the world.
In a blog post announcing the CBT, the devs revealed they had been improving the game's "overall combat experience, enhancing the base building, and fully evolving the world into a living and breathing experience" - common criticisms of the game's previous playtests.
Since the last playtest, more than 30 adventure instances have been added to the game, and more than 50 new plant and animal species, promising players plenty to do whether they go solo or team up.
"We can't wait for you to try out Undawn," said Mo Cen, the producer of Undawn.
"While there's still significant work to be done on the game, we wanted to share the latest progress and let you know that the end of the wait is near and that the Undawn is forthcoming. We look forward to having you experience the world of Undawn firsthand during the closed beta test in April!"

News of this English language beta test follows the launch of a similar test in China on February 23.
