Warzone Mobile has a long list of game modes that you, as a player, can choose from. In this guide, we'll list all the game modes and briefly go over how they work.
Activision launched Warzone Mobile with the express purpose of offering the best Battle Royale and Multiplayer action possible for players on mobile.
The combining of these two worlds makes for some incredible moments, no doubt thanks to the various game modes available in the game.
Whether you're a seasoned player looking for a refresher or a newbie wanting to get to grips with the game modes and how they work, then we've got you covered.
All Warzone Mobile Game Modes
There are eight permanent game modes in Warzone Mobile at the moment. Namely, these are Battle Royale, Plunder Battle Royale, Mobile Royale, Resurgence, Team Deathmatch, Domination, Hardpoint, and Kill Confirmed. These game modes will be cycled through each playlist rotation.
Battle Royale
Battle Royale is a game mode where your objective is to be the last player (or team) standing at the end of the match. Held in the large, open map of Verdansk with a player lobby of up to 120 players, you'll be sure to encounter chaotic moments and, of course, thrilling action.
As the game progresses, the map size shrinks as a cloud of poisonous gas closes in. Navigate through the various environments, gather up weapons and equipment for your loadout, and call in Killstreaks to help you survive.
The Gulag is active in Battle Royale and you will be sent there if you get killed. Defeat your opponent in a 1v1 duel to respawn. If you don't, that's the end of your game and your only other way back in is if an ally buybacks you from a Buy Station.
Plunder Battle Royale
Plunder mode is a variation of the classic Battle Royale mode in Warzone Mobile. In it, you will drop into Verdansk with the objective of being the first team to earn $2 million in in-game cash. You can earn cash by either finding it on the ground, opening loot boxes, completing contracts, or defeating enemies.
A three-minute overtime will begin once the $2 million threshold is reached by any team. During that time, all cash earned will be doubled. Be the top-earning team to be crowned the winners when the timer ends.
Unlike traditional Battle Royale, respawn is allowed in Plunder mode and you will deploy with the loadout you selected at the beginning of the match.
Mobile Royale
Meant to be a faster version of Battle Royale for players with limited time, Mobile Royale is a game mode with smaller teams, better loot, and more Missions. Besides this, it follows the same rules as a regular Battle Royale.
Resurgence
Resurgence sees you squad up with up to four players as you drop into Rebirth Island. As it is a Battle Royale mode, your goal is to be the last person or team standing.
This game mode gets its name from the fact that players have unlimited respawns – at least until the respawn window is closed. If you are eliminated, a timer will appear showing you how many seconds you have until you respawn. Your squadmates can decrease that time by completing actions such as earning kills, being on the move, or opening loot boxes.
The map also shrinks over time, so be sure to escape the poisonous gas.
Team Deathmatch
Team Deathmatch is a classic Call of Duty multiplayer game mode where you team up with others to rack up kills against another team. Be the first team to reach the kills required or be the team with the most kills when the timer ends to win the match.
Domination
In Domination, your task is to hold the three control points scattered across the map. Your team will gradually earn points based on the number of control points you have. The winner is decided once one of the two teams reaches the required points (or has the most points when the match time ends). This is a team-based multiplayer mode, so communication between your squadmates is key to defeating the enemy team.
To gain control of a control point, you will need to stay within its bounds until the progress bar is complete. You can also negate an enemy team's progress over a control point your team has by staying within its bounds.
Hardpoint
Hardpoint is arguably the most competitive multiplayer game mode in Warzone Mobile. In it, your squad faces another squad in pursuit of controlling the coveted Hardpoint. Securing the Hardpoint will gradually give your team points, which will be key as these will contribute to your team's score. The winner is decided by the team who earns the required number of points (or who has the most when the timer ends).
Gaining control is as simple as staying inside the Hardpoint bounds. You can contest an enemy team by doing the same time. During this time, no squad earns points.
Kill Confirmed
Kill Confirmed is similar to Team Deathmatch in the sense that your objective is to earn the most kills. However, there is a twist. When players are killed, they drop a dog tag. To confirm the kill and have it added to your squad's kill counter, you will need to collect the enemy's dropped dog tag which is shown in red.
When an ally is killed, they too will drop a dog tag. These are colored blue. Collecting them will deny an enemy team from confirming the kill.
Limited-Time Game Modes
New game modes are often added to Warzone Mobile at the start of a new season. Some of these will only be available for a limited time after which they will be removed from the game.
Zombie Royale (Coming In Season 4 Reloaded)
Zombie Royale is a twist on the classic Battle Royale as it has one defining feature: Zombies. In this game mode, players who are eliminated will spawn again as zombies. Your job as a zombie is to eliminate any remaining human players.
You can return as a human by collecting 'Antivirals' which are dropped by non-zombie Operators when eliminated. To win a match of Zombie Royale, you will need to be the last team standing with a human Operator.
Havoc Resurgence (Coming In Season 4 Reloaded)
Havoc Resurgence follows the same rules as classic Resurgence. However, there is an added element to the gameplay – all players will receive Havoc Perks during the match. Perks you can get include super speed and random killstreaks for every three kills, for example. The longer you survive, the more Havoc Perks you'll stack up.
Killstreak Roulette
Killstreak Roulette is a variant version of the classic Team Deathmatch game mode where you are rewarded with a random Killstreak for every three enemies you eliminate in a single life.
This game mode will be available in Season 4.
Buyers' Royale
In Buyers' Royale (a version of Battle Royale), you can make purchases from anywhere on the map via an on-screen 'Cloud Buy Station.' These stations will include valuable items such as weapons that aren't usually found in loot caches. All in all, you won't need to fight for Buy Stations any longer which is a positive for us.
This game mode will be available in Season 4.
Buy Back Battle Royale
Buy Back Battle Royale follows the same rules as traditional Battle Royale. The only minor difference is that the Gulag is closed and you only have a single respawn should you get killed. For Duo, Trios, and Quads, you have the option to buy back your ally if they run out of respawns.
Buy Back Battle Royale was available only during Season 3.
