Rainbow Six Mobile, the mobile game inspired by the fan-favorite Tom Clancy title Rainbow Six Siege, has been under development for some time since it was announced in 2022.

Since then, Ubisoft has been hard at work to prepare the Rainbow Six Mobile for its global release. Needless to say, the game's development is a long and arduous process and requires months before being fully developed.

Ubisoft has put together a development roadmap that outlines what they have in mind for the game's future. It's an expansive roadmap that doesn't leave out any details. So with that in mind, let's go over everything you can hope to see in Rainbow Six Mobile.

Ubisoft has a three-stage development roadmap for Rainbow Six Mobile. It includes a Closed Beta 2.0, Open Beta/Soft Launch, and Worldwide Rollout. Each stage will bring more features to the game.

But that being said, here's a breakdown of the development roadmap for Rainbow Six Mobile

Closed Beta 2.0

The second closed beta for Rainbow Six Mobile was released on June 6 with features that were previously available during the first closed beta.

On top of this, Ubisoft introduced the Team Deathmatch game mode, Mastery tracks, loadout and skin customization, a Battle Pass, gyroscope, and haptic feedback for a more immersive gameplay experience.

After the conclusion of Closed Beta 2.0, Rainbow Six Mobile will enter its second stage where an Open Beta and Soft Launch will be held. This will render the game live always and there will be no reset - a departure from the progress resets experienced during Closed Beta tests.

The soft launch phase began in August 2023. The game is currently available in Canada, Mexico, Colombia, and Chile. Here is an overview of when Rainbow Six Mobile was made available in these regions:

  • Canada: August 28
  • Mexico: September 4
  • Chile: November 8
  • Colombia: November 16

More regions will be announced later. It is rumored to include the United States, Brazil, Singapore, the Philippines, India, France, the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, Spain, Japan, South Korea, and Australia.

New features expected to be available in the soft launch are new operator customizations, gameplay improvements (such as fixes to wall clipping), two new game modes, a beta version of a ranked mode, and ranked events.

Permanent progression will also be a staple feature that allows players to carry forward their progress from the soft launch version to the final version of Rainbow Six Mobile.

In mid-March, Ubisoft revealed their plans to indefinitely suspend the release of new in-game content and the soft launch of Rainbow Six Mobile in new regions. It is unclear if and when this will resume.

Worldwide Rollout

Following a successful Open Beta and Soft Launch, Rainbow Six Mobile will finally be released worldwide.

During the game's worldwide rollout, full seasons will be available, a new operator will be introduced, controller support will be added, and a match reconnect feature will be implemented.

We're still a long way away from a global launch, however, the expected release date of Rainbow Six Mobile is September 2024. This date is rumored to be true as it is stated in the Apple App Store. However, this has not been officially confirmed by Ubisoft.

As Rainbow Six Mobile will be a live-service game, we hope to see more operators, maps, and game modes introduced to the game in the future.
