Mico is an incredibly powerful brawler who can deal devastating assassin-like damage with his leaping abilities in Brawl Stars. Here's a guide on how you can master him.
During the Brawlidays 2023 update, Brawl Stars saw the introduction of a new Mythic brawler known as Mico.
According to their lore, Mico believes "he is a big shot in the movie industry but in reality, he is the monkey holding the boom mic behind the scenes." Given his background, it's unsurprising that is a part of the Brawlywood trio alongside Lola and Gray.
Mico is an Assassin brawler, which means that he is capable of dealing large bursts of damage and can ambush enemies. As these Assassins are extremely powerful individually, Mico would perform best in solo game modes like Solo Showdown or Duels.
Given his unique set of abilities, it's important you know how Mico works in Brawl Stars. So, we've put together a guide outlining everything you need to know about him.
How To Unlock Mico In Brawl Stars
You can unlock Mico as a free reward during the Brawlidays 2023 gift calendar that will be available between December 14 and December 31, 2023.
After the conclusion of the Brawlidays calendar, you can obtain Mico from the Starr Road. He is a Mythic brawler so you can purchase him for 1,900 Chroma Credits or 349 Gems.
Mico Attack - Mic Boom
Mico's main attack allows him to jump forward over a short distance and deal damage to nearby enemies upon landing. This unique attacking style makes him the first brawler in the game to jump when he attacks.
You can best use this leaping mechanic to dodge enemy attacks, jump over obstacles, and even utilize it to escape enemies if you're overwhelmed. In any case, Mico is a low-HP brawler, so the ability to jump away will certainly come in handy in most situations.
Mico Super - Out Of Frame
With his Super, Mico can jump high into the air. Using his shadow (which appears as a blue circle on the ground), you can guide where he lands. The bigger the shadow, the closer he is to the ground. Mico will deal explosive damage to nearby enemies upon landing.
Mico's Hypercharge, known as Sound Check, enables his Super to stun enemies for 1.5 seconds after landing.
Mico's Gadgets And Star Powers
As usual, Mico has two Gadgets and two Star Powers. These are:
- Clipping Scream (Gadget): Mico screams at the closest enemy, dealing damage and slowing them down for two seconds.
- Presto (Gadget): Mico's next jump has a 34% longer range.
- Monkey Business (Star Power): Every 5 seconds, Mico's next basic attack steals ammo from enemies.
- Record Smash (Star Power): Mico deals 100% more damage versus non-brawlers.
At the time of writing, Mico has no unique Gear at their disposal.
How To Counter Mico In Brawl Stars
Now, with Mico being such a strong brawler in Brawl Stars, it may not be as fun to go against them during a match. So, we've assembled a couple of tips on how you can counter them. If you're a Mico main, then you should take note of some of his weaknesses listed below.
First of all, Mico is an Assassin brawler. While this may be good on the offensive side of things, this does not reflect positively on his HP. Mico is a low-HP brawler and can be easily taken down in a 1v1 situation by other Assassins (such as Cordelius) and Damage Dealers (such as Colt).
Secondly, if you are not a fan of close-quarter combat, you can utilize Artillery (such as Tick) and Marksmen (such as Mandy) brawlers to take out Mico from afar.
Regardless of your brawler of choice, take note of Mico's low HP. Swiftly launch a barrage of damage to him and you will be able to prevent him from making an impact in any game.
