Earlier this year, Supercell released their development roadmap for Clash Royale in 2023. The devs teased the arrival of Card Level 15 and other significant gameplay changes. It also mentions a Pass Royale rework. This feature has remained largely unchanged since it was first launched in 2019.

Naturally, this news got many players excited, but we didn't know anything about what it was going to look like. This was the case until recently, when the devs unveiled a preview detailing the tweaks coming in the rework.

These changes were made to allow players to earn more rewards from the reward track, be it those who have the free pass or those who pay for the premium track.

Rework Will Add More Rewards To The Pass Royale

After the rework, each reward tier will be split into three versions of the Pass Royale: Free, Gold, and Diamond. Each of these tiers will have exclusive rewards. These can include items such as Magic Items, Battle Banners, and premium cosmetics.

You will also earn the new seasonal currency, 'Season Tokens', which you can spend at the new Season Shop to purchase other in-game items. They will be available in the 'Free' tier.

The number of reward tiers will be extended beyond the usual 35 levels. These new tiers will replace the Gold Bank previously available at the end of the Pass Royale.

To climb these tiers, you'll still need to earn Crowns. However, the rework will increase the number of Crowns you can get from each battle to six - an improvement to the previous three.

Each enemy Crown Tower destroyed will still only give you one Crown. But, you will earn a single Crown for each of your Crown Towers that survive at the end of the battle.

The devs have stated that the Pass Royale rework remains a work in progress, so these changes may differ in the final version. The exact release date of this update is still unknown. Some speculate that it may arrive in mid-2023.
