Supercell has nerfed Monk and Phoenix in Clash Royale after they were deemed too powerful.
After being in the game for only two weeks, Monk and Phoenixhave been nerfed. If you've been playing the game recently, be it in the Phoenix launch event or the Path of Legends, you probably ran into either of these new cards and noticed how impossibly difficult they are to counter. Unsurprisingly, many in the Clash Royale community have been calling for them to be brought down a notch from their overpowered state.
So in typical Supercell fashion, they answered by releasing a set of balance changes that will immediately take place after a short maintenance break. That being said, let's go over these nerfs.
Monk And Phoenix Have Been Nerfed
The nerfs mostly affect the cards' unique abilities. For the Monk, his ability's cooldown was reduced. The Phoenix saw their damage and egg lifetime also reduced.
Here are the nerfs in detail:

These include:
- Fix for Legendary Chests not unlocking Legendary Cards
- Fix for the Level Up Chest at Level 42 not unlocking Champions
- Phoenix SFX fixes
- Adding extra Friendly Battle modes
