COD Mobile Ghost Hack Event: How To Access, Answers, Rewards

Call of Duty: Mobile players are gearing up for Season 7: New Vision City, and so are the developers, with a new Ghost Hack event seeping into the game's files.

You may have seen players spamming "shell" into the global chat and wondered what the hell was going on.

We now know that this Ghost Hack event is tied to the collaboration with Netflix TV show Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, with the new season featuring a number of Operator skins of the show's characters.

This event sees players hack into a computer terminal and have to decipher some cryptic clues. There are rewards on offer here too, with COD points and in-game items up for grabs.

COD: Mobile Ghost Hack Event - Start And End Date

The Ghost Hack event is live now and has been since July 21. It will be live until what appears to be the end of Season 7, which is likely September 7.

With the event running that long, it is likely what we players have discovered about the event so far is just scratching the surface, and new levels will be added in time.

How To Access The Ghost Hack Event In COD: Mobile

One of the most confusing aspects of the Ghost Hack event is how you gain access to it. You will have likely seen people typing "shell" in the global chat and maybe even tried it yourself, and if you have managed to get into the event, then you can move on.

If you have struggled, as we did initially, there is a couple of things you need to do to get access to the terminal for the next step in the event.

To access the Ghost Hack event, follow these instructions:

1. From the main menu (this is important), open up the global chat.
2. In the global chat, type "shell" (don't copy and paste and it isn't case sensitive).
3. The next stage of the Ghost Hack event will open.

If it doesn't open, you should first make sure you are typing it into the correct chat. You must access the global chat from the main menu, not through multiplayer or any other game mode menu.

If that doesn't work, then make sure your game is updated to the latest version, and then try again.

COD: Mobile Ghost Hack Event - Answers

There are two steps to the Ghost Hack event, the first terminal screen and then the event page itself. There is some overlap here, but they both operate differently. We will go over the first stage and then take a look at the second.

The first stage comes as soon as you enter "shell" into the global chat and hit submit. A Matrix-esque rain of numbers and letters will descend on your screen, and you will be taken to a terminal.

You will receive cryptic messages on this terminal which act as clues. Depending on what you type into the terminal, you will progress and be rewarded.

So far, there are a number of words that have emerged that work in this terminal, offering up a new item; components of a Prosthetic Body, which will be able to be exchanged for rewards in Season 7: New Vision City.

Here are the words and then the order you should type them in.

Take note: they are not case sensitive, but you must type them in and not copy and paste them. They are one use only.

There are five separate rewards to earn, you can do so by typing the following word(s):

• DNA, then REPLICATION
• DNA, then MUTATION
• MEMORY, then CURIOSITY
• GHOST followed by any word you want

Now, this is just one part of the event, the next stage can be accessed by pressing the blue text found at the top left of the terminal, which reads: "The net is vast and infinite."

You will now be greeted by a crossword-style layout with a selection of letters. These may seem familiar to you as they are from the words you typed into the previous terminal screen.

Here are the answers to this section:

1. DNA
2. Replication
3. Mutation
4. Memory
5. Curiosity

When you enter each of these, you will be rewarded with 88 COD points which you will get once Season 7 starts. There is also an Avatar and 2 Gold Crate Coupons on offer once all are redeemed.

It may well be that more is added to this event after the release of Season 7, and if that is the case, we will update this page with all the latest answers.

COD: Mobile Ghost Hack Event - Rewards

The ultimate rewards for this event have yet to be revealed. We have seen a number of Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 skins and cosmetics leaked before the launch of Season 7, with Motoko, Batou, and Togusa all leaked ahead of release.

It may well be that the Prosthetic Body parts can be traded for lucky draw spins, but nothing is confirmed yet.
