Season 7 of Call of Duty: Mobile is almost upon us, and it is quickly shaping up as a season to remember. We have the collaboration with Netflix TV show Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045, a brand new battle royale map, and a raft of events and cosmetics all set to arrive with what we know now as Season 7: New Vision City.

The game has been working up to this season for a while, as the Ghost Hack event - currently live in the game - has been teasing the arrival of Ghost in the Shell and its band of iconic characters.

And if that wasn't enough, it looks like the classic Zombies mode is set to return.

If you want to learn more, including the release date, the latest features, and the lowdown on Zombies, keep on reading.

COD: Mobile Season 7 - Release Date

The release date for COD: Mobile Season 7 has been revealed, with the update set to launch on Wednesday, August 3, at 5 pm PST.

That means players have up until then to grind their Season 6 battle passes or those last few ranks in Ranked Series 3.

Worth noting that Ranked Series 4 will also begin with the launch of Season 7 with a brand new round of rewards up for grabs.

COD: Mobile Season 7 - New Vision City

While previously leaked, the arrival of New Vision City as a map has been confirmed, with some official promotional material being released.

A trailer has also subsequently appeared, giving us a better idea of a map we know now is a new mini-Battle Royale map.

The trailer shows a large multi-level map that appears to span several tall buildings and a street level. Aesthetically it's something very different from what we've seen in previously COD: Mobile maps, and we can't wait to try it.

The new map is expected to be available at the start of the new season.

Classic Zombies

Ever since its removal almost two and a half years ago, fans have been clamoring for the return of the Zombies mode to Call of Duty: Mobile. Yes, there was the recently vaulted Undead Siege, but that simply didn't scratch the itch left by the classic Zombies mode. Thankfully, the mode looks set to return with COD: Mobile Season 7, as it was included in the most recent test build.

This is the beloved round-based Zombies mode that has its own dedicated fanbase, whether that be in Mobile or any number of other Call of Duty games.

Its return with Season 7 isn't an absolute certainty, though its eventual return is, as the developers have also confirmed that they are looking into a way to bring it back into the game.

However, the recent test build explicitly states that the contents of the build could appear in this upcoming season or the one following that. So, it may well be that we're left waiting until September, and Season 8, before we see classic Zombies rise from the dead.

COD: Mobile Season 7 - New Weapons And Operator Skill

New Vision City goes from leaked to confirmed, and now here is the rest of what we know via some trusty leakers.

As with every new season, new weaponry will be added to the game, we know that to be the Switchblade X9 SMG.

First seen in Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, the Switchblade is an ultra-compact SMG with an extremely fast fire rate. The CBR40 SMG currently dominates the meta, but it may have some true competition in Season 7.

There is also the introduction of the Claw, an operator skill first seen in Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare.

This SMG-like skill packs a serious punch, and it will also be available through the battle pass.

Other Features

There is also a brand new weapon comparison system which gives you a detailed breakdown of the game's guns as well as the ability to compare one with another. This is arriving with a new Camouflage picker and new weapon sounds for the M13, ASM10, Kilo 141, and SVD.

There are also changes coming to the battle royale mode, with classes now split into five professions that offer new passive abilities. The active and passive skills of classes are mostly remaining the same, but these new professions will offer players yet more choice when playing the BR.

There is also updates to the ranked mode to make it easier to progress, including a mechanic that gives you a boost in whatever mode you are a lower rank in, as well as daily first win XP bonuses.
