The XPR-50 was one of the big winners in the Season 9 weapon balance changes, but the developers maybe gone too far, and it has subsequently been nerfed.
Every new season of Call of Duty: Mobile arrives with a raft of weapon balance changes, and Season 9: Zombies Are Back was no different.
These weapon balance changes will buff and nerf the game's arsenal in an attempt to keep the game balanced from a competitive standpoint and to keep the experience fresh for players.
Season 9's weapon balance changes saw a number of notable changes, with the CBR4 SMG, which had been one of the most powerful guns in the game before consecutive nerfs in Seasons 7 and 8, buffed, making it again the best SMG in the game.
The other big winners were the Holger 26 light machine gun and the XPR-50 sniper rifle.
The XPR-50 looked particularly powerful, with the semi-automatic sniper seeing its maximum body shot damage increase from 60 to 80. When equipped with the QWC Stopping Power magazine, that went to 85, with the recoil penalty usually seen when using the magazine removed.
However, the developers have had a change of heart, and the XPR-50 has been shadow-nerfed just a day after the release of the update.
XPR-50 Has Been Shadow Nerfed
This piece of information comes courtesy of LeakersOnDuty, who regularly dive into the nitty gritty details of COD: Mobile's weaponry, and is described as a shadow nerf because the developers have not publically stated the change has been put in place.

The following changes have already been implemented into the game.
According to LeakersOnDuty, the gun's first range (the range up to it will do its maximum damage) has been nerfed from 35 to 25 meters.
Interestingly, the XPR-50 actually saw its first damage range come down from 50 to 35 meters with the initial buff, but clearly, the developers now feel it wasn't enough.
The XPR-50's headshot multiplier has also been reduced from 2x to 1.65x.
It's a nerf that is replicated when using the QWC Stopping Power magazine, which also sees the chest multiplier reduced from 2x to 1.5x, and its first range reduced from 43.8 to 31.3 meters.
So, while the XPR-50 is still a better sniper rifle than it was pre-Season 9, it isn't quite the beast it was at the launch of the update, with its effective range diminished.
And even though the effects of the QWC Stopping Power magazine when equipped on the XPR-50 have been negatively affected with this nerf, we'd still suggest using it with this gun as not only do you get no recoil penalty, but you still see increased damage and range across the board.
