Base building, or, in more official terms, village building, is one of the staple features of LEGO Fortnite.
Once you put down your Village Square, you can start building your village and recruiting new villagers.
However, as you start, your village will be at Tier 1, and there will be only a few building options and villager slots that you can use.
To grow your village, you must upgrade it to a higher tier. To ensure you know about all upgrades, the materials you need for them and the rewards they offer, we are here with this handy guide listing LEGO Fortnite village upgrades.
All Village Upgrades, Required Materials & Rewards
Currently, there's a total of ten tiers that your village can attain as you upgrade.
When you place the Village Square structure, your village will start at Tier 1 and from there, you can use different materials to further upgrade your village to unlock new villagers, buildings and other such things.
Tier 1

Tier 4

- Villagers can be asked to cook, extract seeds, or tend dirt plots.
- Villager assigned to woodcutting will produce more wood

- Required materials: 15 Knotroot, 20 Planks, 15 Marble

- Rare explorers visit your village
- Villagers get bonus health and defence

- Villagers can smelt down metal, refine textiles, and collect gems
