Indian game developers, SuperGaming, have released the first gameplay trailer for Indus, a battle royale title expected to launch on mobile, PC, and consoles later in the year.

Set in the near future, on a planet called Indus, the developers have taken inspiration from Indian sci-fi and history, with the trailer revealing some of the characters, called Paragons, and weapons.

We also get a pretty good look at the game's map and gunplay, which definitely gives off Apex Legends vibes in both style and substance.

The trailer release also marked the opening of pre-registrations through the Google Play Store, with those using Apple iOS being told they will have to wait a while longer.

You may be thinking, do we need another battle royale in a world of PUBG Mobile, Free Fire, Call of Duty, and so many more? Maybe not... but there is good reason to give Indus a fair shake when it arrives.

India and its gamers are hugely passionate about the battle royale genre, and the developers at SuperGaming, based out of Pune, are clearly passionate about seeing their country represented positively in gaming. That passion shines through in the game's artwork and even socials, and if people get behind this game, who knows where it could go.

With pre-registrations now open, you'd be right to think that alpha/beta testing will follow, with the developers confirming that 'community playtests' will be kicking off in the near future.
