Despite Activision previously stating that Warzone Mobile was set to be released in 2023, it has now been confirmed to be delayed until 2024.
All eyes were on the Call of Duty: Next 2023 event as it was set to reveal highly-anticipated information about the release of Warzone Mobile.
The anticipation for the upcoming FPS title is palpable, with Warzone Mobile already garnering over 45 million pre-registrations.
Fortunately for fans of Warzone Mobile, news about the game's release date was announced.
However, it was not what was expected as Activision confirmed that the release date has been pushed to 2024.
Warzone Mobile's Release Date Has Been Delayed To 2024
It was previously announced in the Call of Duty Next 2022 event that Warzone Mobile was due for launch in 2023. Certain players also took notice that the game's listing in the Apple App Store displayed an expected November 1 release.
The release date has now been moved to Spring 2024. While many players may understandably be disappointed, the wait could well be worth it.
Chris Plummer, Co-Head of Mobile at Activision, provided a reason as to why Warzone Mobile's release was pushed to a later date:
We have a few more things we want to polish up before we release around the world in spring of 2024.
The developers further explained that this additional time is needed to "make all elements of the game even better" with significant improvements being made particularly to the gameplay, touch controls, and the UI.
In addition to this, refinements will be made to provide higher fidelity, reducing the download size, and the available customization options.
