Fontaine is the fifth major region in Teyvat, the fictional world of Genshin Impact, that is finally getting introduced with the version 4.0 "As Light Rain Falls Without Reason" update, which will go live on August 16, 2023.

How To Unlock Fontaine Region In Genshin Impact
In Genshin Impact, you can unlock the Fontaine region by completing Mondstadt's Archon Quest Prologue Act III: Song of the Dragon and Freedom.
Once you do that, you unlock the Fontaine region and can fully explore it. However, to tackle Fontaine's questline, you must complete Sumeru's Archon Quest "Caribert."

Doing so will automatically trigger Fontaine's Archon Quest, Act I - Prelude of Blancheur and Noirceur quest, which serves as the starting point.

How To Reach Fontaine Region In Genshin Impact
To reach the Fontaine region in Genshin Impact, you must head to the teleport waypoint northeast of the Sumeru desert area.
Note: You must have completed Mondstadt's Archon Quest Prologue Act III: Song of the Dragon and Freedom and installed the version 4.0 update.
From there, you can activate the teleport checkpoint and continue to the Fontaine region.
