Various new content was added to Wild Rift with the launch of patch 4.3. Among these stellar additions are new champions and skins as well as the beginning of Ranked Season 10 and Wild Pass Season 14.

Flying under the radar - but just as important of a new addition - is Wild Rift's newest game mode: Tag Duel.

Set as a 1v1 mode, the ultimate objective of the game is to eliminate your opponent a certain number of times to win the match. Tag Duel offers a fresh new game mode for casual players and those looking to test out champion combinations.

How The Tag Duel Game Mode Works In Wild Rift

Tag Duel Ring

A Tag Duel match will take place within a small circle area. If you leave the circle, you will gradually take True Damage until you return within bounds.

There will be brushes and rocks within the area, however, there will be no fog of war and minions present.

A health relic will occasionally spawn in the circle. Consume these to gain a small part of your health back. With the stage set, here is how the gameplay works.

Tag Duel Choosing

At the start of the match, you will get to select three champions. All champions will share a single health bar. Once the bar is depleted, you will lose a life and all champions will respawn with full health and cooldowns. This also counts as one loss.

You can swap between them at any time during the game by tapping the champion's icon. When you swap between champions, all of their ability cooldowns will be refreshed.

A champion's own buff effect will not be carried onto the swapped champion, but other abilities that were activated before the swap will remain active.

Tag Duel Swap Meter

Swapping between champions will consume a super meter charge. You will have a max of three super meter charges that will regenerate throughout the match (you will have two given to you at the start of the match). You can also gain a charge by killing an enemy. The number of charges you have will be displayed at the top of the screen.

  • Are you looking to upgrade your Wild Rift gaming experience? We recommend using what the pros use, finger sleeves , as they can keep sweat off the screen and your fingers comfortable.

All champions in a Tag Duel match will be capped at level 11. Their skills are automatically assigned according to their predetermined skill build.

Tag Duel Items

All champions will have the same amount of gold and automatically purchase items based on their predetermined item builds.

Champion stats have been adjusted for this game mode. For example, mages will have higher ability power, marksmen will have improved armor penetration, and support champions perform better when equipped with damage items. This offers each champion equal defensive and offensive chances.

You will need to eliminate your opponent four times to win a Tag Duel match in Wild Rift.

After three minutes of game time, both players will get the ability to surrender.

If the game time goes over five minutes, a countdown will begin. At the end of this, the player with the most remaining lives wins the game. If both players have the same number of lives, the player with the higher current life percentage will win the game.
