Prepare to start clashing because Clash Royale League 2022 is back! Let's go over the details we currently know about it including the format, players, and prizes.
Clash Royale League is back for 2022 with even more tournaments and community-organized events! This is the official esports program for Clash Royale that has been in the running since 2018. Every year, the tournament has grown bigger and better and this year will push the limits of competitive Clash Royale. It sees a bigger influence from community event organizers that will hold events that earn players a path into the Clash Royale League.
So let's not delay any further and explain how Clash Royale League will work in 2022! All the way from the format to the players and finally, to the prizes.
Clash Royale League 2022 - Format
Supercell will be introducing a brand new format to Clash Royale League 2022. Instead of having a point system or monthly qualifiers, a Golden Ticket system will be adopted. Sixteen of them will be available. Winning one will guarantee a team's place at the Clash Royale League World Finals. If you've been paying attention to Supercell esports, this is a similar format to the 2022 version of the Clash of Clans World Championship. There are two ways of obtaining one: through community-organized tournaments or Clash Royale League Qualifiers.
Community-Organized Tournaments
Supercell has partnered with some of the biggest community event organizers to create eight tournaments that will be fully integrated within the Clash Royale League qualification process. Six Golden Tickets will be handed out in these events on top of the $50,000 prize for each winner. They will be played in a 1v1 format.
The organizers behind these community-organized events are as follows:
- Snapdragon Pro Series
- Queso Cup
- RoyaleMSTRS
- All Stars Golden Edition
Clash Royale League Qualifiers
The Clash Royale League Qualifiers is a Clash Royale event that will be divided into five stages. The remaining ten Golden Tickets will be handed out in the Clash Royale League Qualifiers.
This is a breakdown of the five stages:
- Stage One: (August 6-11): This stage will be a 20-Win Challenge. Any player can participate in the in-game 20-Win Challenge!
- Stage Two: (August 15-20): This will be a ladder stage. Players will compete in a ladder and gain or lose ladder rank depending on the number of matches won or lost. Players will be able to play up to ten matches within any 24-hour period. Once the ladder play period ends, the top 128 players advance to Stage Three.
- Stage Three (August 27): This is a Double Elimination stage. 128 players will go head-to-head against one another in a double-elimination competition, where players are eliminated after losing two matches. The remaining 32 players in the competition will then advance to Stage Four.
- Stage Four (September 3): This will be a Swiss-style stage. The 32 players from Stage Three will compete in five rounds, and players that win three matches will advance to Stage Five. Players are eliminated after three losses. The top sixteen players will advance to Stage Five.
- Stage Five (September 10): This will be another Swiss-style stage. Only eight players from the previous sixteen will win a Golden Ticket. However, the eight eliminated players will have one last chance at qualifying for the Clash Royale League World Finals by participating in the Last Chance Qualifier.
- Last Chance Qualifier (September 11): The eight eliminated players from Stage Five will be seeded into a single-elimination bracket and have one last chance at earning a Golden Ticket. The final two players remaining in the bracket earn a Golden Ticket.
