The second major update of 2023 has arrived in Call of Duty: Mobile, with Season 2: Heavy Metal promising to turn everything up to eleven and throw a TV out a hotel window.

To bring the noise, the update has introduced a never-seen-before game mode called 'Mecha Brawl' that sees two teams thrash out in Goliaths. There is also the Maddox assault rifle, which was so powerful at launch that it was quickly - and silently - nerfed.

Of course, there is also a new battle pass to grind and several new events, one of which offers players the opportunity to unlock a grenade launcher for the M4.

The update is now available through the Google Play and Apple App Store. However, when it comes to the Google Play Store in particular, not every Android gamer has access to it, so some players need to download and install the files manually.

To do that, you will need the COD: Mobile Season 2 (2023) APK and OBB files, which you will need to install on your device manually. The guide below will show you where to download these files and how to install them.

If you don't have access to the Google Play Store, or your store isn't yet automatically updating your client, you will find the links to download the APK and OBB files here.

If you are on an Apple device, you can not install apps manually as you would on an Android device; if there is a problem with receiving an update, we suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the game.
