A New Sniper Rifle Is Coming To COD Mobile

The HDR will turn up in Call of Duty: Mobile Season 3, according to leakers.

We may not yet be at the halfway point of Season 2 of Call of Duty: Mobile, but still, we are starting to learn what we can expect from Season 3.

Thanks to a beta test conducted for the Chinese localization of the game, which featured content for Season 3 and possibly beyond, we have an idea of what new weapons and features we can expect in the coming months.

And if the leaks are proven true, it looks like the HDR sniper rifle, first seen in 2019's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare, will be making its way to the game.

This sniper rifle was a regular sight in that game and Warzone, where, thanks to its high bullet velocity and ability to one-shot headshot enemies at any distance, it was a popular choice for those that like to take down opponents with a minimum of fuss.

It's not the only weapon we are told to expect. Leakers On Duty, who publicized these leaks, also showed evidence that the OTs 9 submachine gun and Sykvo pistol are also being tested in COD: Mobile.

Whether we will get all three in Season 3 is unknown, though it is unlikely. New seasons of Call of Duty: Mobile historically launched with two new weapons; however, more recent seasons have seen only one primary gun added - always as an unlockable through the battle pass.

This year has seen the addition of the Maddox and EM2 assault rifles in Season 2 and Season 1, respectively. We haven't had a new sniper rifle since the ZRG 20mm, introduced in September past with the Season 8: Train to Nowhere update.

The HDR is a bolt-action sniper rifle, similar to the two snipers that dominate the long-range meta: the DL Q33 and ZRG 20mm mentioned above. It will be interesting to see if this new addition can muscle in on those two tried and tested weapons.

We will find out later in the month when Season 3 is due to launch.
