Riot will be ending 2022 on a high note by bringing in the World Ender expansion to Legends of Runeterra. As the final installment of the Darkin Saga series, the forces from both the dark and the light will be converging to engage in an all-out battle.

Needless to say, the expansion will introduce a new set of cards, champions, and keywords to the game. Let's dive into all that goodness.

Legends Of Runeterrra World Ender Expansion - Release Date

The World Ender expansion will be coming to Legends of Runeterra on December 7.

This is shortly before the first play day of the top 16 matches from the Legends of Runeterra World Championship 2022.

Legends Of Runeterra World Ender Expansion - Champions

Aatrox, Kayle, and Ryze and the champions coming to Legends of Runeterra in the World Ender expansion.

Here's a look at their card abilities:

Champion

Card Description

Aatrox
  • 6-cost 5|5 Darkin with 'The World Ender' Origin
  • 'The World Ender' Origin: You may put any non-Champion Darkin into your deck during deckbuilding. Once you've played or summoned 3+ different other Darkin, draw an Aatrox
  • Auto-Equip: The Darkin Blade
  • When I'm summoned or strike: Heal your Nexus 2 and create a World Ender in hand if you don't have one
  • Level up: You've played World Ender
Kayle
  • 6-cost 2|6
  • I have +1|+0 for each time an ally attacked with increased Power. When I'm summoned, grant other allies +1|+0.
  • Empowered 6: Quick Attack
  • Level up: Round start: I have 11+ power
Ryze
  • 4-cost 3|5 with 'The Rune Mage' Origin
  • 'The Rune Mage' Origin: You may put any non-targeted Burst and Focus spells into your deck during deckbuilding. At the start of the game, create 2 'Delve Into The Past' in your deck for each Ryze that started the game in your deck
  • When I'm summoned or Round Start: Create 2 'Delve Into The Pasts' in your deck
  • Level up: I see 3+ unique World Runes

Legends of Runeterra World Expansion - Keywords

Two keywords will be introduced to Legends of Runeterra in the World Ender Expansion: Assimilate and Empowered.

Cards with the Assimilate keyword will transform allies equipped with Darkin equipment into their Darkin unit forms. If they are Champions, they level up.

Empowered Keyword Banner
Get bonuses with the Empowered keyword. | © Riot Games

Cards with the Empowered keyword will have their Empowered bonus while their power is equal to or above the listed number on the card.

For example, Divine Clerk will gain Lifesteal if it has a power of 3 or above.
