Pokémon GO is back with a new limited-time Hisuian Discoveries event! Let's take a look at all the details you'll need to know about it!
Pokémon originally discovered in the Hisui region are set to debut in Pokémon GO! It's a new limited-time event that will be held between July 27 at 10:00 a.m. to August 2, 2022, at 8:00 p.m. local time. Niantic has teased players that the Hisuian Discoveries event will take them back to the good old days of Pokémon so we can't wait for it to start!

Let's take a closer look at the Pokémon debuts, wild encounters, raids, field research task encounters, eggs, the Hisui cup, and more!
Pokémon Debuts
Three new Pokémon will be making their debut in the Hisuian Discoveries event. These are:
- Hisuian Growlithe
- Hisuian Qwilfish
- Hisuian Sneasel
Ultra Unlock: Hisuian Discoveries Raid Day
A special Ultra Unlock Hisuian Discoveries Raid Day will be held on July 31, 2022, between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. local time. During this Raid day, you will have an increased chance to receive Rare Candy XL from in-person Raid Battles, receive up to five free Raid Passes from spinning Gym Photo Discs (during the event and up to two hours afterward), and earn 50% more XP for winning Raid Battles.
In addition to the three aforementioned Pokémon making their debuts, Hisuian Braviary has been recently added as another Pokémon making its debut in the Hisuian Discoveries event!
Ultra Unlock Pokémon Bonus
Niantic added a new ultra unlock bonus for two more Pokémon. These are Unown S and Panpour. This is where they will appear:
- Unown S: raids.
- Panpour: raids and wild encounters.
Ultra Unlock Hisuian Discoveries Event bonuses
Additional bonuses will be available during the Ultra Unlock Hisuian Discoveries Event. These are:
- Friendship levels will increase faster than normal through opening Gifts, trading Pokémon, or battling together in raids, Gyms, or Trainer Battles.
- During the event, Trainers can open up to 45 Gifts and send up to 150 Gifts each day.
- Trainers can store up to 30 Gifts until the end of the event.
Wild Encounters
Fifteen Pokémon will appear more frequently during Wild Encounters in the Hisuian Discoveries event in Pokémon GO:
- Aipom
- Bronzor
- Buizel
- Croagunk
- Drifloon
- Eevee
- Hisuian Qwilfish
- Hisuian Voltorb
- Kricketot
- Onix
- Ponyta
- Porygon
- Tangela
- Wurmple
- Zubat
Additionally, you might encounter these four other Pokémon if you're lucky:
- Electabuzz
- Gible
- Magmar
- Octillery
Raids
Raid Battles take place when a Boss Pokémon takes over a Gym. The goal is to defeat this powerful Pokémon in order to receive special items and a chance at catching that Pokémon. These are classified into one, three, and five-star raids. Here are all the raids in the Hisuian Discoveries event.
One-Star Raids
Three Pokémon will be available in one-star Raids. These are:
- Roselia
- Shinx
- Sneasel
Three-Star Raids
Four Pokémon will be available in three-star Raids. These are:
- Chansey
- Kirlia
- Togetic
- Whiscash
Five-Star Raids
Only one Pokémon will be available in five-star Raids. This is:
- Dialga
Eggs
Four Pokémon will hatch from seven-kilometer eggs. These are the Pokémon:
- Hisuian Growlithe
- Hisuian Qwilfish
- Hisuian Sneasel
- Hisuian Voltorb
Keep in mind that most eggs can be obtained from PokéStops and Gyms around the world.
Field Research Task Encounters
Fifteen Pokémon will be available to encounter when completing Field Research tasks during the Hisuian Discoveries event in Pokémon GO. These are:
- Clefairy
- Cyndaquil
- Magnemite
- Mantine
- Oshawott
- Paras
- Petilil
- Plant Cloak Burmy
- Psyduck
- Remoraid
- Rowlet
- Sand Cloak Burmy
- Shinx
- Sneasel
- Trash Cloak Burmy
If you're lucky, you may even encounter a Shiny version of the Pokémon.
Hisui Cup
Players can celebrate the return of the Hisui region by battling in the GO Battle League using Pokémon from the Hisui region. These are the other requirements:
- Pokémon must be at or below 1,500 CP to enter.
- Only Pokémon first discovered in the Hisui region or Pokémon with a Pokédex number from #387 to #493 will be allowed.
Avatar Items And Stickers
Avatar items inspired by the Pokémon Legends: Arceus main characters’ outfits will be available again in the Pokémon GO in-game shop. Players will also be able to get event-themed stickers by spinning PokéStops, opening Gifts, and purchasing them from the in-game shop.
