New Update Optimizes Warzone Mobile With A Smaller Download Size

Activision has subtly reduced Warzone Mobile's download size by a significant margin. This means more mobile devices will be able to run this upcoming FPS.

Earlier this year, Activision announced that "optimization across all platforms is a major priority" for the future development of Warzone Mobile.

It hasn't been smooth sailing for Warzone Mobile in terms of performance. The game may have been soft-launched in countries such as Sweden and Australia, but its graphics and gameplay experience have varied especially since the closed alpha tests last year. Updates have seen the graphic fidelity increase, but the game's overall performance has decreased - particularly for Android devices.

However, months down the line, Warzone Mobile has seen one of its most impressive updates to date. Its download size has been reduced from a hefty 11 GB to around 6.65 GB.

With such a drastic reduction, what does this mean for the game? For the most, this means exactly what the devs have promised – optimization.

Warzone Mobile will now be able to run smoothly across all Android devices, especially those mid-range Android mobile phones.

This improvement also carries over to mid to low-range iOS devices, including those with only 3 GB of RAM.

Needless to say, this update marks a step forward in the right direction in terms of player accessibility. Call of Duty (and Warzone Mobile by extension) is a franchise appreciated by everybody, but not everyone has access to high-end mobile devices that have the best specs to run the game.

Lowering the threshold to play Warzone Mobile makes it drastically easier for all to download and play the game. Now, Activision can focus on bringing other key features that the community wants in the game such as an FOV slider and max graphics.
