A new patch has landed in Wild Rift and it brings with it various changes and additions. For the most part, patch 5.0b introduces much-needed balance changes to adjust the meta by nerfing overpowered champions and buffing those who are unbelievably underpowered.
Besides this, players will see the release of the 'Together Under The Crescent' event where you can play through missions, gift friends rewards, collect login lanterns, and play a new mini-game.

Also, the new Double Cast game mode will be launched in this patch. In it, you can cast the same skill twice to create some truly chaotic games. Finally, more champion skins will be added to the game.
But let's return to why you're here – to learn about the novel balance changes. Let's dive into all of them
All Balance Changes In Wild Rift Patch 5.0b
Patch 5.0b's balance changes contain buffs, nerfs, and adjustments that impact mostly champions and only a single item.
Buffs
Eight champions were buffed: Akali, Gragas, Katarina, Lucian, Renekton, Samira, Tryndamere, and Urgot.
For the most part, these champions have been noticeably underperforming during key parts of the game, be it the early, mid, or late game. So, these boosts to their abilities are stats are certainly a welcome one.
Here are the buffs in detail:
Champion | Buffs |
Akali |

Gragas |

Katarina |

Nerfs
On the other hand, only a handful of champions were affected by nerfs. These were Aurelion Sol, Dr. Mundo, and Sett.
In patch 5.0, Sett has been dominant in the Baron Lane, meanwhile Aurelion Sol have proven himself too powerful for Tanks in the Mid Lane. This would explain their nerfs!
The Crown of the Shattered Queen also sees its damage reduction effect decreased because Riot wants to increase the amount of decision-making involved for mages using it.
Here are the nerfs in detail:
Champion/Item | Nerfs |
Aurelion Sol |

Dr. Mundo |

Adjustments
Karma is the only one to be adjusted in patch 5.0b. Riot believes she is dealing too much damage in the early game and so, will need her burst damage adjusted "so there will be options for outplays as she has to kite for more damage with a lower cooldown on her shield."
Here is her adjustment in detail:
