Supercell has given a sneak peek about an upcoming 5v5 game mode that will be introduced to Brawl Stars soon.
In the next update, Brawl Stars will add a special game mode that will allow players per team than the usual three.
This was revealed in an episode of the official Brawl Stars podcast, Time to Explain. In it, the Supercell team often discusses pressing issues players face, answers popular questions from the community, and reveals information about novel features.
The latter was the case for the podcast's most recent episode. The idea of a 5v5 game mode has got the Brawl Stars community excited, and understandably so, as all team-based game modes (except for Big Game) follow a normal 3v3 structure.
This expansion of team size would allow players to experiment with team compositions and unlock never-before-seen brawler synergies.
A Chaotic 5v5 Game Mode Is Coming To Brawl Stars
During the podcast, the Supercell team admitted that they are still experimenting with how they want this game mode to play. They are trying this structure with different modes such as Brawl Ball, Gem Grab, and Wipeout. The best game mode to work under these 5v5 conditions will then be released to the Brawl Stars community.
Not only will there be a greater number of players on each team, but modifiers will be active to add more chaos to the gameplay experience. Community Manager Dani states that this "twist" is meant to make the experience more exciting and eventful, rather than just having the same rules but with a larger team size.
This new game mode will only be available during events, so it won't be in rotation as is the case for other core game modes such as Showdown or Gem Grab.
Details are currently scarce, with the only information having been released on the Time to Explain podcast. More specifics will be released the closer we approach the next update. That said, The next Brawl Stars update is expected to be released in either late December 2023 or during the first week of January 2024.
At that time, players will be able to experiment with the new changes Season 22 will introduce such as the Brawl Pass rework, the removal of the Chromatic Shop, and the redistribution of brawler rarities (after the removal of the Chromatic rarity).
