Supercell has revealed their plans to do away with Chroma Credits and the Chromatic rarity for brawlers. This is understandably a huge piece of news and will have a massive impact on the entire Brawl Stars gameplay experience.

For the most part, the Chromatic rarity has been a staple aspect of the game and brawlers who have it were recognized as the best in the game. This removal will result in exisitng Chromatic brawlers receiving a new rarity.

Meanwhile, Chroma Credits - a currency that is only valuable at the Chromatic Shop - were only recently introduced to the game. This change would mark a rather short stay for what was once described as the path forward for Brawl Stars.

These two items will be removed in an update that is slated to be released in January 2024. They come alongside a major overhaul to the Brawl Pass that will see it become more rewarding for both free-to-play and paying players.

The removal of the Chromatic brawler rarity will result in all Chromatic brawlers being assigned a new brawler rarity.

Here is a complete breakdown of each Chromatic brawler's new rarity:

In accordance to this rarity change, the Chromatic brawlers affected will also see their Mastery Track changed to align with their new rarity.

Chroma Credits (and subsequently, the Chromatic Shop) will be removed from Brawl Stars when the update is released in January. Until then, players have limited time to use their Chroma Credits.

Once the update is released, any remaining Chroma Credits will be converted into Credits. Each Chroma Credit will be worth 1.85 Credits. This change would effectively make the Starr Road the only shop where players can purchase new brawlers.

Supercell believes this decision was the right call to make as the Brawl Stars rework will make it easier for players to attain brawlers. With the Starr Road and Brawl Pass being good avenues for players to build on their brawler roster, Chroma Credits and the Chromatic Shop will then lose their purpose and become redundant in the game.
