Riot has hinted at three champions that could be potentially joining Legends of Runeterra in the next expansion.
We're currently in the second installment of the three-part Darkin saga in Legends of Runeterra. Each passing day means we're one step closer to the final part of the series that's set to be released in December and we can't wait for it.
It seems like Riot can't wait for it either. They recently shared (and almost immediately took down) an Insta story promoting an upcoming remix for 'Predator' - a song from Riot's in-house band Pentakill - that seemed to hint at three new champions that could be joining the game in the next expansion.
Aatrox, Kayle, And Ryze Could Be The Next Legends Of Runeterra Champions
Those champions are Aatrox, Kayle, and Ryze. You could dismiss this as a simple marketing gimmick, but mind you that these champions are yet to be in Legends of Runterra and the Insta story was not shared on any other of Riot's social media accounts for their games.
With an expansion centered around the Darkin, it only seems logical to add one of the most powerful champions out there: Aatrox, the Darkin Blade himself.
His arrival seems imminent to some players as he was recently added to Wild Rift in the patch 3.5 update. Given how Kayn was also added to Wild Rift after he was introduced to Legends of Runeterra in the Domination expansion, many speculate Riot has a back-and-forth between the two mobile games and that champions added in one game will almost certainly show up in the other.
On top of that, what better way to end the epic Darkin saga than introducing two of the most fearsome and justice-serving champions to vanquish Aatrox back to the darkness: the Righteous, Kayle, and the Rune Mage, Ryze.
It's still not officially confirmed whether these three champions will be coming to Legends of Runeterra, but chances are, we'll find out soon once we enter the month of December.
