How To Get Evolution Shards In Clash Royale

In this guide, we show you all the ways you can get Evolution Shards in Clash Royale. These will be necessary in unlocking one of the many Card Evolutions available.

Card Evolution is a new upgrade system in Clash Royale that will provide your cards with enhanced stats, unique animations, and new abilities.

To unlock a card's Evolution form, you will need six Evolution (Evo) Shards of that specific card. This can be a challenging task for many players as these Shards are a rare in-game currency.

So to help players, we've put together a guide exploring all the ways you can get Evolution Shards in Clash Royale.

A variety of options are available, and players will simply need to play the game to unlock Shards. It may prove to be difficult as Evolution Shards are extremely rare.

There are six ways players can get Evolution Shards in Clash Royale:

  • Pass Royale (unlocks at King Level 7)
  • Season Shop (unlocks at King Level 8)
  • Challenges
  • The Shop
  • Path of Legends
  • Level-up Chests after King Level 50 (every second Level-up chest)

Earning Evolution Shards for a fully evolved card below Level 14 will convert the extra Shards into several regular cards for that unit type. You will earn 1,000 Common Cards for each extra Evolution Shard for a card above Level 14.

Earning Evolution Shards for a fully Evolved Card level 14 or above will convert the extra Shards into a number of Elite Wild Cards. You will earn 1,000 Elite Wild Cards for each extra Evolution Shard for a card above Level 14.

Besides Evolution Shards, there are also Wild Shards. When used, this will allow you to add one Evolution Shard to a card of your choosing. It can also be used to unlock the first Evolution Shard for any card that has an Evolution.

You can get Wild Shards at the Shop and Season Shop in Clash Royale.
