Riot recently celebrated Wild Rift's first-year anniversary in China and Andrei Van Roon, Head of League Studio, posted a video on Weibo outlining future plans that are in the works for the game.

He started by stating that the goal of Wild Rift was to "make the excitement and competition of League of Legends accessible to anyone with a mobile device" and to expand the game into something unique.

Following this guiding principle, Andrei revealed that a new game mode will be coming to Wild Rift in a future patch.

It will be a mobile-tailored version of the new League of Legends 2v2v2v2 game mode, Arena. In it, you can team up with a friend and battle it out against other players in round-based combat.

Not only is Arena a new spin on the rules for regular matches in Wild Rift, but Arena will also feature a new map layout, gameplay mechanics, and more.

In addition to this, it was also revealed that a new feature will be added to Wild Rift which allows players to "bring your own creature along with you on your climb." It is unclear what this means, but many speculate this could be similar to Little Legends in TFT.

At the time of writing, it's unclear when either of these new features will be released to Wild Rift. However, we can expect them to be introduced in an upcoming update later this year.
