Supercell has released a preview of Clash Royale's development roadmap for 2024. It's massive, so let's dive into all the new features, changes, and details.
With 2024 in already in full swing, many Clash Royale players are now looking forward to what's in store for 2024.
2023 was revolutionary in terms of game updates and features. To name a few, players saw the introduction of the powerful Card Evolution, novel Elite Levels, and a massive Pass Royale rework.
Needless to say, it is going to take a lot for this to be topped. Fortunately, we have been given a taste of what Supercell has planned for Clash Royale in 2024 as they have released a preview of the year's development roadmap.
Overview Of Clash Royale's Development Roadmap In 2024
The preview includes three major points: Tower Troops, Card Evolutions, and new cards. We will explain them below.
New Tower Troops To Be Added To Clash Royale
Tower Troops are new cards can be add to your decks in Clash Royale. Based on the troop you select, you can customize how your Princess Towers deal damage to any enemies.
You can view the default Tower Troop, known as the Tower Princess, in your card collection. She and other Tower Troops can be upgraded to their Elite Level (Level 15). But, bear in mind that the level of your Tower Troop cards is capped to your current Tower Power during battle.
More Card Evolutions With Each New Season
Card Evolutions have been a major game-changer since their introduction to Clash Royale in mid-2023. Their enhanced stats, unique ability, and all-around potency make them a strong inclusion in any deck.
With these card types, Supercell had set a soft rule where only Common cards were eligible to receive a Card Evolution. No other card rarities such as Rare, Epic, Legendary, and Champion, will have an evolved version.
We may see this rule changed in 2024 to allow all card rarities to receive a Card Evolution in the future. This speculation comes from the fact that non-Common cards such as Golem and Electro Wizard (an Epic and Legendary card respectively) appear in the roadmap for next year.
The caption "More Card Evolutions With Each Season" also suggests that we can expect more than one new Card Evolution per season.
New Champion, Spells, And More Cards Will Be Released
Good news for players who have been asking for more cards to be added to Clash Royale! The coming year will see the release of new Champions, Spells, and other cards.
In 2023, the game only saw one new card added — the Little Prince champion. Besides this, only Card Evolutions have been introduced. The last non-Champion and non-Evolution card added to Clash Royale was the Legendary Phoenix, which arrived in late 2022. A new Spell has not graced the game in a long time too.
That said, new cards are certainly a welcome addition. On top of this, we can expect other new features and changes to be included in the development roadmap for 2024.
