A new update is here in Clash of Clans and it's packed full of new troops, upgrade levels, features, changes, and so much more. Here's everything you need to know about this massive update.
In April, Clash of Clans received one of the few major updates that are released each year. These often see the additions of new features, changes, and troops which, needless to say, are the cause of much excitement for all players.
The update was released on April 17, following a brief maintenance period.
In the lead-up to the update's release, we have seen the release of several sneak peeks – as is usual for Supercell with updates – where details about its contents have been revealed. But, this has been summarized in their new episode of Clash On!
To help you familiarize yourself with everything introduced in the April update, we've listed the important details below.
New Angry Jelly Hero Pet
The Angry Jelly is a new flying Hero Pet whose long-range main attack allows it to target both ground and air units. Its favorite target, however, are Heroes.
Its unique ability, known as "Brainwash", makes the Angry Jelly's Hero target enemy defenses.
What's interesting about the Angry Jelly is that it is immune and cannot be targeted when attached to a Hero. But, once it is detached, it becomes targetable and can take damage.
More Upgrade Levels For Your Favorite Troops And Buildings
A plethora of new upgrade levels for both troops and buildings are coming in the April update. The most notable upgrade is Level 12 for the Clan Castle as it increases the Siege Machine capacity from 1 to 2.
In the table below, we have listed all the new levels that will be added soon.

On top of this, the update will enable players to upgrade all of their Walls up to Level 17.
Clan Chat Tagging Feature Makes Its Way To Clash Of Clans
Clan Chat Tagging is a novel feature that's meant to improve how Clans communicate with one another. It introduces three unique tags that allow players to address either a specific person or group of people within the Clan.
The tags include:
- "@clan" – Notifies everyone in the Clan.
- "@leaders" – Notifies all Co-Leaders and the Leader of the Clan.
- "@player_name" – Notifies a specific player.
You can opt out of being notified each time a message tags you by changing your preferences in the in-game settings.
Other Changes And Features
A whole host of other new features and changes will be introduced to Clash of Clans in the coming update.
We have listed them all below:
- A new Defensive Layout Editor will be available for the Builder Base.
- Changes to Clan Games will result in certain Builder Base tasks appearing less and the creation of a new task for winning battles using Hero Equipment.
- Clan Perks will be adjusted to allow each player to donate more troops.
- Increase the loot limit per attack in Clan Capital trophy calculations.
