Clash Royale May Balance Changes (Season 59): Heavy Nerfs Are Coming!

The May 2024 season, otherwise known as Season 59, will have one of the biggest Clash Royale updates to date because of the many balance changes it will introduce. We'll show you everything you need to know about it.

Season 59 will be debuting in Clash Royale on May 6, and with it, will come new Card Evolutions, events, and balance changes. The latter is often the most consequential part of any new season update in the game as it can have a huge impact on the meta and the best decks that dominate game modes like The Path Of Legends.

The coming balance changes will be the biggest we've ever seen this year due to the heavy amount of nerfs affecting a large batch of popular cards. RoyaleAPI gave us a preview of the final balance changes. These changes are final, so these are confirmed to be introduced to the game in the coming days.

That said, here's what to expect from Season 59's balance changes in Clash Royale.

The upcoming balance changes will have buffs, nerfs, and reworks. As mentioned earlier, Season 59 will have significantly more nerfs than usual. These will target the stats of many Card Evolutions and Tower Troops to reduce their power levels in the current meta as they can be slightly overpowered.

Besides that, a handful of Card Evolutions are going to be reworked and two other regular cards are going to be buffed. We have listed each buff, nerf, and rework in the tables below:

  • Cycle decreased increased from 1 ➡️ 2
Mortar Evolution
  • HP multiplier decreased from 1.2 ➡️ 1
Royal Giant Evolution
  • HP multiplier decreased from 1.1 ➡️ 1
Royal Recruits Evolution
  • HP multiplier decreased from 1.1 ➡️ 1
Skeletons Evolution
  • First hit time decreased by 25%
Valkyrie Evolution
  • HP multiplier decreased from 1.15 ➡️ 1.1
Wall Breakers Evolution
  • Runner damage decreased by 50%
  • Runner speed increased by 33%
Zap Evolution
  • Second strike damage decreased by 50%
  • Third strike damage decreased by 50%
Elixir Collector
  • Generation time increased from 9 seconds ➡️ 12 seconds
  • Duration increased from 65 seconds ➡️ 86 seconds
Goblin Drill
  • First spawn time increased from 0.5 seconds ➡️ 0.8 seconds

Firecracker Evolution
  • HP multiplier decreased from 1.3 ➡️ 1
  • Big sparks duration increased from 2.5 seconds ➡️ 3 seconds
  • Small sparks duration increased from 2 seconds ➡️ 2.5 seconds
  • Movement slowdown increased from 0 ➡️ 0.15

Knight Evolution

  • HP multiplier decreased from 1.2 ➡️ 1.1
  • Damage reduction increased by 17%
Tesla Evolution
  • HP multiplier decreased by 17%
  • Death shockwave increased from 0 ➡️ 1

The next set of balance changes will be introduced at the start of Season 60 in June 2024.
